NFL voted down proposal to add players to IR-designated to return; also voted down extra points from the 25...
however while NFL will continue gathering info on extra points, in preseason Week 1 and 2, extra point snaps will take place from the 20
NFL approved expanding replay to account for loose ball situations like the Navarro Bowman play from the playoffs

Belichick’s request to put cameras on the goal line and boundaries has been tabled for further discussion.
The Commanders’ request to move the kickoff to the 40 and eliminate the preseason cutdown to 75 players were denied.
The biggest no-brainer change of all — banning OT in the preseason — has been tabled for some reason until the next owners meetings in May.
Goalposts have been extended five feet, per the request of the Patriots.

Looks like there will be a point of emphasis on sportsmanship this year, as well.

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora 1m
In terms of sportsmanship, Competition Committee agreed this is an issue that needs to be get under control, Jeff Fisher said...
Fisher said conduct and element of respect must return. Language and taunting are an issue. "We're going to raise the standard."
No new rules implemented in regards to sportsmanship but Comp Committee wants it vigorously enforced

Will Brinson ‏@WillBrinson 2m
Jeff Fisher: The Committee agreed “we have an issue on the field” and we are “going to get it under control”
Fisher: We are going to “affect change immediately” — “we’ve got to change our conduct on the field”
Fisher: “We’re going to clean the game up on the field between players. The in your face taunting … the language”
Jeff Fisher says improving sportsmanship “includes everything” when asked specifically about the “n-word”

Bart Hubbuch ‏@HubbuchNYP 1m
Jeff Fisher said there were 34 taunting penalties last year, compared to 9 in 2012. Crackdown is coming.
Jeff Fisher said the “in-your-face taunting” will be taken out of the game. Call it the “Richard Sherman Emphasis."

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 42s
Fisher indicates that the NCAA has asked the NFL to help cut down on taunting. It’s filtering down levels of the game

Stephen Holder ‏@HolderStephen 1m
Taunting is now a "front of the book" issue, Fisher says. Look for increased unsportsmanlike flags this year

Gee, it looks like the Kicker position is getting more and more improtant to the success of the team.........not that it was every really in doubt with the parity that is present today. I am doing cartwheels over the fact that we have Bailey!

Thank you for this post, and some of the following posts. I knew about most of the proposed changes and now do not have to go look to find the results.

I really like the crackdown on the taunting and other nonsense that goes on. Definitely needed to bring some integrity back into the game. I am all for it. Hope they will also address the "cheap shot" aspect of the game that has recently been occurring. Good clean hit, no problem, but not a cheap shot to injure. No fine, suspend is the answer when it is obvious.

Also like the idea of raising the goal posts. There was many a time watching a game when I could not tell if the kick was good. This just makes it easier for the refs to tell. Think this also ties in with no goal post celebrations. Raising the posts 5 feet higher and players jumping on them may impact the field goal post itself (in other words, they probably knew this new rule would pass).

As far as more cameras, I wish that had passed. There were so many bad calls this past year, well, I cannot count them. If the refs had more info to look at maybe some of those bad calls would not have been made. Got to improve some of the play calling by the refs this upcoming year. I have seen far too many games determined by bad calls. I think the worst game was the Steelers vs Seattle SB a few years ago. An absolute disgrace. And in a SB, that one bites if you are a Seattle fan. And say what you like, but momentum is very important during a game. And a few bad calls and a team's spirit may drop impacting the game. The refs have got to step it up this year and I am for anything that helps that. That would include getting rid of refs where they make too many bad calls -- what is someone lining their pockets or something??

So, for me, always complaining about all the rule changes I like what I see coming out of this meeting.

I like the taunting.

I do too. I think they should allow players to use the personal names of opposing player's family members and draw death symbols attached to their names as a way to get under the player's skin and get them off their game.

It's all about getting an edge and winning.
