Owners pass a rule guaranteeing each team a possession in overtime

If both teams get a TD on their first possession, we're back to square one. Where one team has an extra possession.

No coin toss, 6 points wins the game, and the home teams gets to choose. That could also change the strategy at the end of regulation in some close games.

Another proposal that we all knew was coming, kickoffs through the endzone now comes out to the 35 instead of the 30. I'm sure that will pass.

Penalize a team with a good kicker, that makes sense.

If the NFL changed the kickoffs last year in efforts to reduce injuries, this new rule kind of works against the old rule installed last year doesn't it?

It's not a good kicker. Good kickers kicked in through the endzone when they kicked it from the 30. Just about any kicker can do it from the 35.

They changed the rules to reduce injuries, not returns. They want the best of both worlds, more returns and less injuries. Or else why have a kickoff at all? This new rule is supposed to do that. They didn't change the entire kickoff so it could be downed in the endzone.

They might as well just get rid of the kickoff
