Pack has secondary issues

We need to get out of the first quarter reasonably close. If we can do that, I think this team moves the ball. If it's a shootout, I'm a believer in Prescott.

Packers CB3, Quentin Rollins, who was their CB1 last week with Sam Shields and Demarious Randall out last week vs the Giants, was added to the injury report today with a groin injury:

If he does't play, the Packers will be likely be missing their CB1 (Shields), CB2 (Randall), and CB3 (Rollins) and will be left only with 3 UDFAs playing the CB position.

All I can say is, thank God Mike Winicki isn't a Packers fan. We'd all be nervously pacing some upstate New York hospital waiting room.

We are reading it along with their RB and OL issues.

I think to win this game DAK is going to have to throw past their front 7 and the receivers must get open.

The Pack will try to stop the run and Clay Mathews will be a spy on DAK to prevent him running.

That means..air it out.

You guys agree or no?

Go mainly with what we do best, grind-it-out ball control running, but use that to set up some passes down the field.

This is going to be a very physical game.

The Packers will try to intimidate us early.

If we answer that..

we have a shot.

Special teams and field position is going to be big.

Lets get Bailey and Whitehead ready.

Going to need them firing on all cylinders.

Green bay's defense is big upfront but their weapon i think is speed and confusion on defense. If we know where they are coming from I think we will make a bunch of big plays tomorrow. If they are confusing our offense then we will probably struggle most of the game and be stuck in 3rd and long.

Green bay is going to give lacy a million carries tomorrow on the other side of the ball. I already got the sense from watching the packers players interviewed they are sick of hearing about Dallas offensive line and running game. So they are all probably fired up because of the over exposure nationally for Dallas. If Dallas handles lacy early we should be in great shape.

There have been several mentions recently about how physical Dallas plays. I think the intimidation angle goes bopth ways.

In so may years that I've lost track we have consistently and inexcusably been unable to exploit an opponent's depleted secondary. It remains a one of the great mysteries of the modern era. Thankfully the second greatest mystery (our inability to execute an effective screen pass) looks like it has a chance to finally get rectified this season. Let's hope so anyway.

I think we are going to see DAK come out this game..

He has been very conservative so far against average and below average teams.

I see him calling his own number alot..

running, throwing and keeping their defense backing up to stop him..

allowing the OL and Zeke to takeover second half playing keep away with Rodgers.

what secondary issues do they have? Shields has been out for awhile and they have been fine.

What are the issues they have? There defense got stronger this week with the activation of Mike Pennel and demetri goodson.

There defense is ready to go.
This reminds me of the time Seattle signed a loan officer, a hunting guide, and a gym rat off the streets to play in the secondary and beat us in a playoff game.
Seems like I remember a crazy ending to that game.

Dak doesn't run that much, so I kinda feel like Matthews spying Dak could mean he doesn't have a big impact. Maybe the rest of their pass rush/coverage suffer.

There's no doubt in my mind that we'll be facing a very capable defense in Green Bay. On offense, we'll need to be focused right down to the last man to control the ball as convincingly as we have to this point this season. Our OL, Zeke and Dak must execute and perform to their utmost, while the WRs will need to create space for themselves and catch effectively. We will have a realistic fighter's chance to win if those conditions exist throughout the game. It'll be a challenge, no doubt -- but it's totally do-able, nonetheless. A perceived 4-point advantage isn't so hard to beat.

Defensively, in the meantime, it is required that Rodgers musn't be allowed to get comfortable in the pocket. Allowing that to happen would be an invitation to a scoring contest -- something that is to be avoided at all cost. If their offense is forced into being as erratic as they've been thus far this season, we'll have a golden opportunity to break free of our tendency to struggle at Lombardi Field. There is now an opportunity to exert our strengths and exhaust their defense with ball control throughout the game. Do that and the win will be ours for the taking.

Sort of what I was getting at.

If they keep a spy near the LOS..

it hampers the rushing attack.

But it opens up the passing attack with one less guy dropping into coverage.

Linehan will have scripted his first 20 plays by now..

we shall see.

Hope you are right.

Guys like Zeke, DAK and Witten need to get physical..

guys like TWILL and Butler need to get open quickly..

Beasley needs to score early to make his presence known, too.

If everybody comes to the party offensively..

We're all golden.
