Packers 1st Round Pick Status - Rooting Guide

This is going to be a much discussed topic now that we are focusing on the draft, so I’m posting this to the Fan Zone. It was asked a dozen times in the game thread so it seems appropriate

Ok, for the everyone wanting to know about our pick. Bottom line, we need to root for the Packers to miss the playoffs.

Matchups and scenarios

Packers remaining games
  • Week 17 - vs Ravens
  • Week 18 - @ Vikings

Packers Win Out
  • 100% clinch a WC (Win the division with two Bears losses)

Packers finish 1-1
  • 85% chance to clinch a WC
    • Route(s): Lions drop 1 out of their last 3 or 49ers lose out

Packers finish 0-2
  • 42% chance to make the playoffs.
    • Route(s): Lions need to lose 2 out of their last 3

X-Factors
  • Jordan Love left the game and did not return with a concussion.
  • Ravens may have nothing to play for depending on how tomorrow goes. They host New England

Tomorrow!!!
  1. Root for the Lions and the Ravens.
Seasons over. Ill be rooting for the Chargers as well.
I want both our draft positions to move up in the draft order.

The Packers a really banged up right now so that works in the Cowboys favor. I don't wish for anyone to get hurt, but several more Packers went down with injuries last night, including their QB. I do believe the injuries were the difference in the game.
they're not the cowboys, maybe the guys they have as backups can step up and not miss a beet!

Wouldn’t you guys be rooting for Packers failure even if we had clinched home field theoughout the playoffs?

I’m disappointed in our team but I always enjoy the draft.
Pretty sure Love will ( should ) miss the next game..........concussions generally cost a player at least 1-2 games.

I just hope Jerry lets the youngest grandkid get his turn with the 2nd round pick. What am I thinking? We have 2 ones, let the youngest pick the second 1st round pick. I love this family and this time of the year.

But But when the trade was done everyone on here was crying saying it will be a pick in the 30 s saying it will be a pick like a second round pick hmmm
To be fair, if Micah, Love and Wyatt were healthy they likely have a better record

Lol Love has played in all their games but a half which they still had the lead late so with out Love didn’t cost them Parsons has played every game but 1 so your point is has no merit

lol they lost the Broncos and Bears game without Micah

Love played the entire game they likely win that one.

They are 9-5-1. All im saying is their record is going to be worse than projected

I think the Packers are cooked. Even if they win out the loss of Parsons and the state of Love is going to mean they get into the playoffs and are a first round exit.

where do we stand now. 15 and mid 20s? Would be nice to get like 12 and 18

Disagree. As soon as we had their number 1 pick, it became our interest to see the Packers fail.

Wouldn’t make a difference if we were a solid team or not.
It’s always fun to have a teams pick

Bills had a great year and I think we took Felix jones and Mike Jenkins I think the bills had Jp losman from Tulane or some ****.

Then we had the browns pick and they also had a great year they made the playoffs worth jelly Holcomb? I think we took Anthony Spencer that year or was that the Marcus spears ware year?

Anyways it’s fun having reverse rooting interests. Get to be a total hater, no gambling dollars lost

I think each year if I was a team I wokld
Offer all 7 of my picks for all 7 of the giants picks, basically a gentleman’s bet we’ll be better . It’s super cool idea. Maybe even go to the media and be like yea every team in the bfc east turned us down on the trade offer

I have more interest in how the Cowboys finish. This team is picking later in the draft than they should be.

Before the Detroit game folks were talking Dallas being the hottest team in the league.
A win vs the hapless raiders, a Philly team that seems to have regressed and a struggling Chiefs.

After watching that Zona game and the defense vs the Lions, this team should clearly be picking in the top 10.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m following what the Packers are doing, but I wouldn’t mind seeing that pick traded in the right scenario.

Lions down 3-0 to Pittsburgh
Ravens play tonight

The only thing that can make me feel better is if something bad happens to Philly and the rest of the playoffs get canceled.
