Joey Porter now has some company in creating late-season distractions for his team.

Packers assistant coach Darren Perry was arrested in December for first-offense drunken driving, a charge uncovered today by the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

The charges against the safeties coach stem from a Dec. 17 incident. He was also charged with refusing to take a breathalyzer test and unsafe lane deviation. Perry has a Feb. 23 first appearance in court.

How so? Was he supposed to play in the game? And if this occurred in December, odds are the Packers already knew.

Was he ever suspended? If the Packers knew, shouldn't he have been disciplined? Thought dating back to the Wade Wilson stuff, the NFL's stance was that coaches are held to a higher standard.

No idea.. At least not by the NFL.

Man if Dallas had two pot charges and a drunken coach catching cases on playoff week this place would look like it did last year.

Just like the Lamebo leap celebration, the typical NFL rules don't apply to GB.

:thumbup:The Pack in the news because of injuries, suspensions, and run-ins with the police. Meanwhile, the Boys are staying out of the news. Let's keep it this way.

Man! The timing of these stories is impeccable. Shields hasn't played all season and his October incident hits the press. Then the WR's incident from months ago hits the press again and now this Coach's incident from last month hits the press. The media as a whole is something else!

I think Wilson was suspended for something like 5 games and fined $100,000...for trying to treat ED with something he thought would be OK.

A coach arrested for drunk driving? I will accept nothing less than GB forfeiting their next game...whoever that is.

Interesting how GB is keeping all this stuff covered up. Playing the Cowboys in the playoffs will get your skeletons exposed! Media scrutiny is a heavy weight to bear. All other teams don't get what the Cowboys get every day.

It's usually the opposite.

This is nice. Let's keep doing this. ;)
