Is our running success due to improvements in the OL and Zeke?
How much is it due to improvements in our passing game and Dak?
Is Zeke seeing less in the box?
If so, is that due to Bengals' scheme?
Or is Dak's passing forcing defenses to play a little more honestly?

If we just look at the amount beef in the middle of the line below, the Giants seem to have the most.
Specifically 350lb Damon Harrison who probably would be difficult to move.
Harrison could really clog up the middle for the Giants and that may have been the problem.

Packers have slightly more beef in the middle but not much more than the Bengals, and have minimal injuries to DL.
Hopefully the OL has really gotten in sync and Zeke is a lot better runner than Week 1.

Packers 3-4
DE Dean Lowry - 296lb
NT Letroy Guion - 320lb - on injury report last week only
DT Mike Daniels - 310lb

Giants 4-3
LDE Jason Pierre - 278lb
LDT Johnathan Hankins - 320lb
RDT Damon Harrison - 350lb monster
RDE Olivier Vernon - 275lb

Bengals 4-3
LDE Carlos Dunlap - 280lb
NT Domata Peko - 325lb
DT Geno Atkins - 300lb
RDE Michael Johnson - 275lb

Packers have given up 171yds rushing in 4 game (42.75yd/game).

GB has played:
JAX #32 rushing
MIN #30 rushing
DET #20 rushing
NYG #25 rushing

It'll be an interesting match up to watch.

Packers have played primarily with a 2 man DL so so far this year.

Last week they lined up in their 3-4 base exactly zero times.

There will be plenty of crazy alignments from Don Capers.

Cowboys OL just need to enforce their will.

I don't see how that would work against the Cowboys. Are there any pics out there? Or is it really a 4-3 (or nickel) with the OLBs as the ends? Even if the OLBs are standup ends its still a 4-3.

what they do well is guess and bring their really good LBs to fill the gaps to stop you on run downs,we need to keep them on their heels by willing to pass on first downs and actually going deep on early downs.

Well as of now.
Giants - 13th
Washington - 30th
Chicago - 26th
San Francisco - 31st
Cincinnati - 21st.

But I will say that we pushed Cincy down the list after last week.

Got to believe that 2DL formations would not work against our DL.
Did not realize their DC is Capers - so got to expect he will do a good job.
Hopefully we get to see each OL pancaking multiple defenders per play.

They're good and deserve credit. But we're not facing a defense that will average less than 50 yds against over an entire season. Pretty certain their average will be closer to 90-95 by Thanksgiving. Again they are clearly getting the job done, but we're not facing the 2000 Ravens by any stretch. It's going to be tough sledding mostly but we can still be effective if we're patient.

I know it's last year but both DMC and Turbin had good game last year in GB.

ATT YDS
D. McFadden 9 111
R. Turbin 7 51

And that's with Cassel as the QB.

Interesting.

With the personnel comparison, it seems like we should have at least as much success as last year.
For 2016, seems like they have 1 new starters - Lowry
They say Lowry is rookie with good motor.
In 2015 game with Cowboys, Guion played and had 1 tackle and 1 assist.
Not sure if he started.
No stats on Daniels
And what impact they had if they played.
Pennel had 2 tackles and 2 assists.

Here is the Green Bay 2015 defense depth chart - though Guion played last year but not on their depth chart - strange.

Before playing us the Bengals were giving up 3.8 yards per carry, 97.5 yards per game and they had not given up a rushing TD all year. We took them for 6.2 ypc, 180 yards and 3 TDs.

Green Bay hasn't played us. We'll revisit their rushing defense after the game.

This is the game Zek needs the ball 25-30x with lot of dirty yards and hope to break one later in the game to ice it.

Anyone got the rankings for the rush defenses the Cowboys have played?

Based on yards per carry.

5. Giants
15. Chicago
23. Cincinnati
25. San Francisco
32. Washington

Cincinnati was like 18 before we gashed them. They also didn't have Burfict for the first 3 games, he's pretty good against the run.

Packers are #1 in rushing defense, allowing only 2 yards a carry, but the teams they've played are ranked (based on yards per carry)

19. Detroit
21. NYG
27. Jax
32. Minn

Giants only ran the ball 15 times, and they're pretty terrible at it, but the 7 carries between Rainey/Perkins they averaged a little over 4.4 yards a carry. Not sure who Darkwa is but he skewed the results with 7 carries and a 1.6 average. Point being, we'll have opportunities.
