With the concept of if you do it every play ....it simply wont be called, virtually cannot be called. Belicheck and his pik plays every down, Seahawks in their glory days of very agressive CB play........Packers Oline study on their "blocking technique", that lets Aikman call them the consensus best pass blocking Line in Football.

From a comment thread in BTB blog site. The real "meat" is over halfway down from the Lions SBNation blog post with tons of pictures showing repeated Packer Oline "technique"

Packers cheat on every offensive snap.
If anyone wants to know why Aaron Rodgers is untouched and why the Cowboys could get no pressure on him its because Mike McCarthy has taken a page out of Bill Belichek’s cheat book. Find a loop hole in the rules and exploit it.

The NFL knows that holding could be called on every offensive snap and discourages officials to do so with its blocking techniques requirements. A careful viewing of the Packers O-line reveals each and every lineman is taught to hold on every play by getting outside the arm pit to arm pit area by controlling the defender with the shoulder pad esp. at the point of attach. It is an egregious violation of the rules it by know means isolated it happens as a norm not an exception. The only conclusion since no other team does it on every play is that its coached. The Cowboys were screwed like every team that plays them just like every team is screwed when Belichek pushes the pick rule on virtually every Patriots pass play like he did with the repoting rule that cost the Ravens a playoff victory two years ago.

McCarthy and Belichek are sleaze bag cheaters who do anything to win and the Boys are just the most recent victim. The NFL is spinless for continuing to permit it and eventually will ruin the sport if they don’t stop it.

Sounds serious - like Seahawks CBs playing aggressively because Carroll knows the refs can't make every call but..
a picture is worth a thousand words…anybody got a gif of this?

Being able to throw it 40 plus times game after game without a holding call...........that isnt crying, its wondering how ........Every Oline coach in the league might as well start coaching this.........all the way down to Pee Wee.

I bet he gets sacked/ holding calls this Sunday vs Beasley and Freeney.

Every team holds on every play. This is another example of looking into the clouds and seeing what you want to see.

That said, if a loophole is technically legal, then why wouldn't you exploit it if it gives you a competitive advantage?

Every team...........but then every team should run pick/rub plays to the extent Pats do.........every team should have their Cb's play as agressive as the Seahawks did during thier peak D years....

People can call it crying all they want but you could see jerseys being yanked when our dlnemen were beating their guys. They had 3 obvious holds on third downs they converted as well.

My problem with the officiating is how horribly inconsistent they are, plus the fact that the timing of when they finally do decide to call something always seems to screw one team. There is no standard of what is going to be allowed and what isn't. We have had some really cheap holding penalties bring back numerous big plays by Zeke this year. Than you see our guys being tackled and no flag, ever.

I wouldn't count on it, I watch a lot of Broncos games and I almost never see Von Miller draw holding penalties.

Ware hardly ever got any calls when he was here either.

You could make the same argument for the old Broncos chop blocks. I don't think there's some conspiracy going on where every year the refs collude to pick a random penalty and not enforce it for one particular team.
