Packers with RB issues

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- James Starks not only was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, but the Green Bay Packers running back may miss several weeks because of a knee injury suffered this week.

Starks was downgraded from questionable to out following practice on Saturday. The veteran backup reported some pain in his knee after a workout Tuesday, and the initial diagnosis is a meniscus injury, according to a source.

The Packers are still trying to determine the severity of the injury and a course of action for treatment, in part because Starks spent most of the week out of town to attend his grandmother's funeral.

It leaves the Packers in a difficult spot, considering Eddie Lacy has a left ankle injury that prevented him from finishing last Sunday's game against the New York Giants. Lacy was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report after practicing on a limited basis this week, and his status did not change Saturday.

"Eddie did well [in practice] with his limited work," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Friday. "We're making progress. So hopefully we'll continue to make progress."

McCarthy also could use receivers Randall Cobb and Ty Montgomery out of the backfield, if necessary. They have combined for seven carries this season, and Cobb said this week that it's possible he and Montgomery need to be on high alert for additional rushing duty.

I wanted Lacy in 2nd round in 2013 . He was sitting there when we selected Escobar. Even after an injury riddled beginning was offensive Rookie of the year .

In 2014 he be became 1st Packer to rush for over 1,000 yards in his 1st 2 seasons.

His injuries took a bigger toll last year only starting 12 games and less than a 1,000 yards.

His issue has always been injuries not talent.

His issue is his weight.

I don't fear their RBs. I fear Rodgers and his ability to extend plays, nimbly dodge the pass rush, and throw 50 yard lasers with a flick of his wrist. He beat us in 2014 with a strained calf-- and we only sacked him twice. That will not cut it tomorrow. We need to get him 3+ times and harass him enough to get him off his game if we want to win.

If this ends up in a shootout-- I think the game starts to favor the Pack.

I dont think Cobb can handle more than a few carries. Hes coming off the neck injury and just not that sturdy. I think they've got a practice squad guy they will likely activate. Jackson?
Don Jackson, but they didn't activate him. They elected to activate Mike Pennel (DT) and Demetri Goodson (DB), both coming off PED suspensions.

Wow thanks, so then Im thinking that means they feel very confident in Lacy holding up this week. They will get Cobb a few more run plays than normal but if push comes to shove we will be given an overdose of Aaron Rodgers while they all but abandon the run? Its really pretty crazy when you think of it. How many NFL teams have you seen go into a game without a back up RB? Tell me what Im missing.

Let's face it -- all they need is for Lacy to be capable of his normal stuff and he'll be tough to handle. Let's hope our front 7 is just as tough.

He won't break 100. Keep overhyping him

Even when hes playing well GB refuses to give him the workload. Considering we haven't allowed a 100 yd game I dont expect Lacy to be the first.

It looks to me like the Packers are having Rodgers issues more than RB issues.

I want it to be known I accepted you bet long before the game started. I got the perfect avatar for you
you accepted after I logged off for the night and I didn't even check back until now, maybe next time respond in a more timely manner

not only that but no terms were ever proposed (length of bet, restrictions, etc.), so imo the bet is null and void

So not a man of your word. Got it.
