I was a little worried by a postgame quote from Pacman... "My timing is so messed up."

Hopefully he gets it back by week 1. Look for him to keep getting lots of preseason snaps to shake that rust off.

I'm not worried about Pacman. He got beat by a good receiver on a double move, got tangled up and tackled a guy in mid-route, and whiffed badly on a tackle.

For his first time back on the field in I-don't-know-how-long, I absolutely expected a sloppy night. It's one reason I want him getting back into the flow of returning punts now. He needs to get re-acclimated with the game there, too.

I with you on Pacman, i'm not too worried about him. I'm sure it will take him at least a little while to get back to the speed of the game. Strippers got moves but they don't move quite as fast as NFL recievers;) .

All and all i was very pleased with our RBs and CBs (except the penalties).

I will hold off judgement on Bennett until i see him in a few more games. But, when he got stripped of that ball during last night's game, the only thing i could think of was the part on Hardknocks where the TE coach was harping on him about tucking the ball in as soon as he catches it. Hope he learned from it.

I have been waiting for Carp to finally emerge but i'm getting at the end of my ropes. He made a few plays here and there but i saw him getting blown at the point of attack way too much. Perhaps he wasn't getting a lot of help from the DL but come on.......

Special teams........ not so special last night. I hope it was just because the coaches were just throwing young players in to see if they deserve a spot somewhere. I hope they have improved from last year, if not, we are going to make games way too difficult for ourselves.

Specific players i was pleased with.......................

Spears ................... he was actually disruptive
Scandric ................he seems to get to the ball quick and seems aggressive
Zach ..................... one bad old man
Austin ................... Maybe this is the year where he steps up

On a field with scrubs, Carpenter was the only one on our defense hustling and trying really hard besides when he was in there with Jenkins/Scandrick.

Really, Carp had a pretty solid game. I'd have to really question what you were watching.

And by just looking at their play, Bartel outperformed Brad Johnson.. so why didn't you include him?

It was funny watching him look, aim and run to the hold to make the tackle... funny in the sense.... his feet seemed to move like Fred Flintstone... little tiny choppy steps.

Most Effective... so I dont care if he twinkle toes it. I like he co-leading the defense.

Pacman had a rough outing. I was expecting more, even though he hasn't played ball in a year and half. I expect him to be much better by the end of the preseason.

Random thoughts............

Carpenter is a bust

Bartel should be cut

Martellus Bennett stinks.

Remember, these games are not "game" planned as a regular season games. Some of the play calls are called to see what the player(s) can do. And that in a particular situation, an entirely different play would normally be called.

I wouldn't say Carpenter is a bust, but I did expect a little more from him last night. But will not be down on him for it. Well, maybe "expect" is not the right word, so I "hoped" he would do more.

Yes, Bartel looked awaful IMO.

Bennett played his 1st game, give him time. We have Witten and Curtis ahead of him. It's not like he needs to come in and be a pro-bowler right away.

ZT is a STUD, dude was all over the field. I wouldn't be suprised if he leads our team in tackles this year.. He's a tackling machine!!!
