I'm not worried about Pacman. He got beat by a good receiver on a double move, got tangled up and tackled a guy in mid-route, and whiffed badly on a tackle.
For his first time back on the field in I-don't-know-how-long, I absolutely expected a sloppy night. It's one reason I want him getting back into the flow of returning punts now. He needs to get re-acclimated with the game there, too.
I with you on Pacman, i'm not too worried about him. I'm sure it will take him at least a little while to get back to the speed of the game. Strippers got moves but they don't move quite as fast as NFL recievers
.
All and all i was very pleased with our RBs and CBs (except the penalties).
I will hold off judgement on Bennett until i see him in a few more games. But, when he got stripped of that ball during last night's game, the only thing i could think of was the part on Hardknocks where the TE coach was harping on him about tucking the ball in as soon as he catches it. Hope he learned from it.
I have been waiting for Carp to finally emerge but i'm getting at the end of my ropes. He made a few plays here and there but i saw him getting blown at the point of attack way too much. Perhaps he wasn't getting a lot of help from the DL but come on.......
Special teams........ not so special last night. I hope it was just because the coaches were just throwing young players in to see if they deserve a spot somewhere. I hope they have improved from last year, if not, we are going to make games way too difficult for ourselves.
Specific players i was pleased with.......................
Spears ................... he was actually disruptive
Scandric ................he seems to get to the ball quick and seems aggressive
Zach ..................... one bad old man
Austin ................... Maybe this is the year where he steps up
