Pacman?

I hope we do bring Pacman back. Although it will help for depth purposes, unfortunately it won't help our front 7, which played poorly against the run most of the game.

I wish we could somehow trade for Shawne Merriman in addition to adding Pacman. If Spencer doesn't become a force on the other side of Ware, Ware will see consistent double and triple teams.

Dude I am definitely not saying that. The D was consistently bad today to the point where we'd be lit up by a good team. That's all I am saying. It doesn't have to be Pacman...but I don't see FS improving so I wanna know what we're gonna do against these slot receivers and #2 options. Jenkins doesn't seem ready to me.

If anything can be improved, it's the D. I just want to see it done.

Our D wasn't that great today i'll admit.

But you gotta give the Bucs some credit too. Clayton was making some beastly plays and on their 1st score on 3rd down some how a tipped ball landed in their guys hands.

They had some fortunate things happens for their passing game.

What I am more concerned about was a run defense.

But it is only week 1 so its to early to say we suck or not.

Some of you amaze me.

Let's bring Pacman back.

How about we just say **** it, and bring back TO and Tank Johnson too.

Hell, we won 13 games with RW31(38), bring him back too.

Go get Matt Jones, Brandon Marshall, Shawn Merriman, Plaxico Burress.

We'll turn ourselves into the Raiders.

Let's give it a shot.

The defense gave up almost 450 yards today. Something like 26 1st downs. Don't think they got a sack and tackled like complete **** and people are immediately shooting this guys thread down.

Unbelievable.

Anyone who doesn't think the D needs to play better is out of their mind.

It was a good win but to instantly dismiss this thread as someone overreacting is ridiculous.

The D sucked today. Big Time.

No what we are saying bringing in Pacman is an overreaction to 1 freakin game. That is what a lot of fans do overreact to a W or L. This is especially true on opening day. Look back to 1997 when Dallas slaughter the Steelers in Pitt opening day and everyone was riding that teams bandwagon that team went 6-10 and Pitt went to the Playoffs.

:bang2::bang2::bang2::bang2:

That is what I call an over reaction now if the trend continues then yes this defense has issues but that please let us get a few games in before overreacting.

I mean the WR played well today but man that does not mean anything but they had a good day today.

People have been speculating about adding a DB after week 1 since before final cuts were announced.

How is this any different? Cause the player is unpopular? I don't want Pac either but to say this is an over reaction when a week of the same speculation isn't is nonsense.

To even consider taking PAC back is absolutely classless....
It's bad enough he was allowed to wear the star in the first place....

You don't think that maybe, just maybe, the lack of a pass rush today (Which I dont believe will be a problem every single week all year) had anything to do with them giving up a lot of completions?
It was 3 step drops over and over again for the most part...the same stuff that always got us beat last year. They dinked and dunked down the field for the most part. It's annoying, but it's on the secondary.

NO PACMAN

Did Scandrick play? I don't think I heard his name all day... which for a CB might actually be a good thing. Jenkins did struggle a little...could be an interesting week of practice

Was he really that big of a distraction? Our secondary would've been picked apart today if Tampa had a better QB out there.

Anyone who remembers last year should NOT be content with these shady wins over mediocre opponents. The D needs to step it up bigtime. Giants are looking good today and I don't want to get in a shootout now that their D line is revamped. Who else can we sign? Hamlin looked like absolute garbage today.

Whats up with our D anyway?! I thought that it would be the one stable aspect of this team...particularly with the success Wade had last year after taking over. We are gonna have mucho issues against quality teams if Wade keeps a jolly attitude about wins like some of the homers on this board do.

Pacman was terrible when he was here. Also, how would he help with the 174 yards we gave up on the ground?

I'll shoot down this thread, because it's stupid. Leftwich threw for 276 yards - 61 of the yards were in garbage time on their last drive.

If you want to complain about something, complain about the 174 yards and the 5.6 YPC given up on the ground instead of picking on the cornerbacks!

Nobody is making you comment in this thread. If you just wanna take shots, that's fine, but we're weak in the secondary and it's tough to play aggressive run defense when ur busy helping against the pass.

This problem is not gonna magically disappear. We need to figure it out.

I'm certainly not one to overreact to a win or loss. This is a problem that we've had ongoing for awhile now, and it's not gonna just go away by us being happy that we won today. Complacency will not help this team. I understand that it's only week 1, but we already have a divisional game coming up.

Our offense was awesome today, but I just don't see any reason why these glaring defensive issues will resolve. Jenkins isn't ready yet. Maybe Scandrick is...we'll see. If not, we're gonna have to look into something.

Wade Philips is an amazing defensive coach, but there's nothing he can do if they don't execute in the secondary.
