That is absolutely 100 percent correct my friend.Wouldn't be surprised if it was simply because it doesn’t look “cool”,

No, it's the result of the class action lawsuits from previous concussion outrage, remember?I think its the owners kinda protecting themselves from a class action lawsuit by the players union down the road.
Those brought back the memory of Don Bebe of the Bills in our SB years - he used to have a padding over his helmet (painted like the helmet) -but what they found out was that the extra padding would kinda make the helmets "stick" when they met.Wouldn't be surprised if it was simply because it doesn’t look “cool”,
In 2023 we cater to the 1%.Take the helmets off, 99% would not lead with their head
I agree in part. There is still a heavy impact that sloshes the brain. The bike helmet is likely to keep you from cracking your head open or getting road rash. It is not going to do anything for the brain.
I also think the day's coming. They can improve safety of helmets with the studies and diagnostics they've funded in the past. Its coming ........ if they paint them it wont look bad.
Anything that helps safety.
If they actually reduce injury I'm all for it, but I actually think I saw a study a few years ago that the extra helmet padding makes players MORE susceptible to brain injuries due to the excess weight their necks are carrying around. Why don’t they just keep those padded helmets all year, If it helps with concussions isn’t that a good idea?
