As the sale of the Panthers progresses, the bidding seems to be escalating beyond the interests of some previously reported bidders.

According to Scott Soshnick of Bloomberg, the price of Jerry Richardson’s team has reached $2.5 billion, which would be the highest sale price ever for an American professional sports team

No suprise here.
It is a very strong franchise in gorgeous area of the country, in a rapidly growing market with excellent facilities and fan support.
And NC had some seriously wealthy people who happen to be football fans.
Perfect storm.

Actually assumed it might approach 3 billion

So does that leave out P Diddy and Steph Currey? I was really hoping to watch the mess P Diddy owning a team would bring ... even more so since he said he would give Kap a spot on the team

Why is that good news?

We don't need more ownership drama from someone that is more interested in getting press than football, turning one of our NFL franchises (and the franchise of my residence) into a circus.

... no offense to "Brother Love".

Be more specific about what drama you're talking about that he would bring. A proven business man with over 700 million dollars net worth, seems like a worthy candidate to be a part of an ownership group.

Somebody that wants to buy an NFL franchise just to sign Kaepernick.

That's somebody more interested in making a statement than bringing a city a winning franchise.

... or somebody that decides to change his name to "Brother Love". That's just a bit too douchey for my taste.

Four years prior to that Jerry purchased the Cowboys for 155M and is worth like 5B now...........I wish we could find a buyer.

You think that's why he wants to buy an NFL franchise? You sound like a hater. It's also laughable that you are criticizing his entertainer persona and calling it drama. Are you going to research the other candidates and scrutinize things they have done in the past or their political views before endorsing them? No, probably not. You won't hold the other candidates to the same standard. You'd rather just jump out there and say stupid things to mask what you really want to say.
