They're reporting 70,000 tickets sold. Just because fans aren't in the stadium, doesn't mean the tickets weren't sold. Unless they're just fudging the numbers. But you could clearly see a very sparsely populated stadium. Even before halftime.

And the Panthers have been one the top teams in attendance over the last decade.

That trade (giving up 2 firsts, 2 seconds and DJ Moore for one first) combined with the worst reord has been so awful the fans feel they have no hope.

Maybe, but it's still embarrassing for the owner. You literally have to try to lose money as an NFL owner, and Tepper is doing great at losing money. That's one of the quickest ways to annoy the other 31 owners. They probably love the free win, but they don't love losing money.
