Yep, he has some play making skills when the play breaks down. Problem is, you can’t design an offense around that trait.

He is not much. But if you are currently leading your division, do you really turn that over to a rookie who was the last player drafted? The team knows what they have in that kid and maybe he is the answer. But I think I take a shot on a vet, to manage the game and has been there before (playoffs).

I think the 49ers are 29th on the wire. But only one other team that might claim him but I doubt they do and that would be the Texans. All the other teams have their QB.

Happened exactly the day after Garoppolo was injured for the year... That can't be a coincidence. I wonder if there was possibly some under the table arrangement made between the Panthers and Niners for them to make Mayfield suddenly available in mid season. Of course he needs to pass through waivers so not exactly sure this would make sense. Just a thought.
