While I do hope that he returns, it IS possible that the next coach, WHOEVER it is, becomes the "next best thing".

I see alot of posts saying "Yeah, but who are we going to get that is better?" Why this line of thinking? I remember when Jimmy was brought here....alot of people didn't think he would be able to do the job...ESPECIALLY after that first year. I'm sure that alot of people here felt the same way.

Coaches come and go. I remember when we were one of the few teams that didn't go through coaches with regularity, but that has changed with Jerry Jones, and like it or not, that entire time before Jerry Jones we only had 2 Rings. We now have 5.

Tom Landry was the best coach this team has EVER had, and people called for his head as well at the end.

There were also people saying "But who are we going to get that is better?"

One could argue whether or not Jimmy and Tom even belong in the same sentence, but they certainly belong in the same paragraph.

Let's just wait and see who we get next.....and then we'll have to wait a couple of more years to "properly" evaluate him.

PS....IF we win the Superbowl next year with a new coach, I don't want to hear how he did it with BP's players the way it is said of Switzer doing it with Jimmy's.

There are still too many holes to fill this off-season....and pretty important ones as well.

If we win a Super Bowl 15 years from now and the only Parcells player on the team is McBriar, there will be guys saying it was all Parcells.

and if we win next year with parcells some of you will try and find a way to discredit it. Somehow Little bill will be credited for that one as well I bet

Well, if we win one next year and Parcells isn't around, he will get some credit and he'll deserve it.

No, he didn't finish the job, but he has a pretty darn good young defensive nucleus in place.

I don't see any way, that if he DOES come back and we win the Superbowl, that he COULDN'T get credit for it. 3 straight 5-11 seasons to a Superbowl in his 4th year. Jettisoning virtually everybody that he inherited to what he has now.

However, there are some VERY important areas on this team that need to be fixed. If the new coach turns our offense around to a powerhouse, then it WOULD be the next coach that should get more credit than BP.

Yes, BP should and would get SOME credit if we win it without him next year, but if the offense is turned around, that would be due to the new coach bringing in a possibly new system and more than likely a few new players, such as a #1 WR and fixing the o-line.

BP did do a nice job with our defense but Zimmer should get some credit for that as well...which he won't by several people on here.
