The four-day shoot for the Gatorade commercial began at Trinity's Oct. 19 game against Irving MacArthur. The "players" are actors, but the game is all Trinity.
The Trinity High School Trojans football team has hit the big time, featured in a new national Gatorade TV ad that also stars Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells.
The spot, which depicts the team working out and playing a game, is generating buzz in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford area.
"No one outside of here is going to know who all the fuss is about," said Ellen Jones, an H-E-B district trustee and Trinity parent.
"But it's something we can all talk about and point to and have pride in together."
The four-day shoot began at the team's Oct. 19 night game against Irving MacArthur.
Actors re-created parts of the game the next night in Lancaster, stepping in for students in close-up shots. More footage was taken at Trinity's practice field and weight room.
"It was fun," said Trinity coach Steve Lineweaver. "But I don't know as far as helping us win any games next year."
The school didn't get paid for the appearance, Lineweaver said, but Gatorade donated some of its sports drink to the team.
