Parcells Documentary

1. Parcells' press conferences were fantastic.

2. Parcells knows coaches. This board thought Zimmer was terrible and kept calling for his head his entire time here.

3. Parcells knows coaches II. Sean Payton, Todd Bowles, Tony Sparano, Todd Haley, Anthony Lynn. All on hit staffs here. Mike McIntyre was also
And that's just here. Look at all the guys from his other stops.

I think I saw something that showed that all but three current head coaches could somehow be linked to Parcells - a lot of that is through Belicheck and increasingly through Zimmer but it really shows an impressive influence.

I was ecstatic when it was announced that Parcells was coming to Dallas. I felt like we were exiting a nightmare and back on track. There was one thing though that disappointed me about Parcells, drafting Barbie Carpenter.

So you should make a quick change at a pretty crucial position during the season. After Romo went through 2 full seasons and the training camp of the 06 season as the holder. That makes zero sense to blame Parcells. Romo was not the starter when the 06 season started. You should just blame the player that could not do his job 1 time in an important game. Not what parcells. Not what time of day it was. Or if the ball was slippery. It was his JOB.

completely disagree. I'm sure there was already a back up for that job in place. And it was halfway through the season when they made the switch. If they can switch the QB spot at that "crucial position during the season" they sure as heck can switch the snap holder. Geez

Besides I put more of the blame losing that game on not allowing Romo to throw the ball against a beat up secondary and a guy 2 weeks removed from loading trucks as his job. Parcells blew that game.

Got you. Hall of Fame coach makes mistake, not Romo. Get outta here lol. The Romosexuals out in full force today.

Let me educate you. It was Jerry Jones forcing Johnson out. Jerry Jones alienating the veteran leadership. Jerry Jones destroying the scouting department. Jerry Jones bombing drafts. Basically Jerry Jones believing he was a football genius.

and in typical jeri fashion, he started the relationship with Bill defining what he values most, being in the limelight and getting credit

its astonishing how insecure of a jackass jeri is, here's the excerpt from Parcells book where the allocation of credit is made part of Parcells contract:

pathetic

How big would the fine be today for that hit on Witten that broke his jaw?

If memory serves, that was done in jest. But I'm with you on Jerry.

Total BS if you think Jerry "forced" Jimmy out.
Nobody, including Jimmy, says that's how it was.

right, he fired Jimmys *** and then gave Jimmy 2 million to say otherwise

Jimmy was coming back for a shot at a 3-peat if he hadn't been fired, he may not have stayed on much or any longer but he was prepared to return. He was recruiting Deon at the Super a few weeks before he was fired, not the actions of a man planning to quit.

For some reason, somewhere along the way, jeri forgot and abandoned the saying he mentions here:

no, Jimmy wanted the hell out of here
In large part because of Jerry, but also because he never really stays anywhere as a coach for very long.

Why do people say this about Romo holding the field goal snaps. It was his job in 04,05, and 06. He didn't start the season as the QB so that was his job. Maybe he should have changed it to someone else, but at that point romo did the job for 3 straight seasons with no incident.

I don’t think he was focused on that snap. I think he was thinking about what had just happened...bad spot by ref on previous play...the possibility of going for it on 4th down. Starting QB shouldn’t be snapping.

I defeinitely think once Romo became the starter that Parcells should found another holder.

YUP A REAL WINNER

DAL Total 34 - 30 .569

J G

DAL 67 - 53 ..569

LOL I'd love to see Garrett and his 27 year rebuild if he started with the .300 team Parcells had in 2002. I'm sure he would've had Quincy, Antonio and Troy Hambrick clicking on all cylinders.

Hmm, I hadn't heard that. I don't recall it being portrayed that way in his book and wouldn't have kept the quote if it was but perhaps I missed it. I try to rely on source material whenever possible instead of memories and opinions, so if the quote is incorrectly failing to convey it was in jest, I sure would like to know so I no longer reference it as being serious.

I am biased with my disgust of all things jeri but despite this, it sure sounds like something jeri would do

I'd even take Camp Cupcake back at this point over Garrett.

I'll take that high school HC that never punts!! Basically any coach over this never ending marriage of disappointment.

I watched everyone of his press conferences and learned a great deal. Never thought it would work but they made the best of it.

Pure Gold. Kinda wish they had documented the other three seasons but I get why they focused on just the 1st.
