I have read two write up's and talked to one individual who says the most active man at the Senior Bowl today was Jerry Jones who was talking to players, coaches, scouts and even did a interview for a canadian news station.

Glad to see Jerry making the time.

Parcells apparently is not MIA. The Star-Telegram said in an article that he was staying in Dallas repairing his staff, or at least trying to. Jones goes to the Senior bowl every year....the article says he accompanied the SCOUTING department down there and had a reunion with former Cowboy and doper Leon Lett who was visiting family in Alabama...the state where families love each other...over and over and over:lmao2:

It's simple anybody that Jerry likes we will absolutely not pick, I could name names but all Cowboy fans know about his uncanny ability to pick non rushing defensive ends and QBs with substance problems and probably a wide left kicker too, Jerry couldn't pick a draft pick to save his soul, BP come quick....

if it was worth his time, he would be there. lots of coaches don't go.

sometimes coaches need to let scouts, you know, the guys who have job descriptions that read "evaluate college player's talent" actually do their jobs.

Personally I would rather have him attend the combine than the senior bowl. That is where most of the prospects will be anyway.. I'm sure there will be enough tape of the senior bowl events for him to look at.

Always get a kick of that. How does the Cowboys situation vary from other NFL teams because there are plenty of head coaches at the Senior Bowl. I'm also wondering why it varies from anything else in life. Last I recalled owners of companies hire bosses to oversee the running of a business, conduct interviews and make hirings. I have never worked anywhere that the boss was not around to evaluate a potential hiring which is basically what Dallas will be doing.

Sorry, but when I see Gruden out there busting his ***, talking to players and taking notes it really makes me wish we had a younger coach with some fire in his belly.

And there are plenty of teams who DON'T have coaches at the Senior Bowl. It all comes down to management style and whether you can trust the people under you. Honestly, if I trust someone who is working under me, I'm not going to undermine him or her by trying to do their jobs for them. That's how you develop a talented staff.

You are right, both events would have been nice!!! But I guess I should have stated if BP attends one and not the other, I'd rather it be the combine.

I hope that his apparent attention to reshaping the coaching staff is the reason he's not there. Though I'm sure that he could have done that via phone or had them in Mobile if he had gone the the senior bowl.. So I am a bit disappointed he is not in attendance.
