You're right - we were 5-0 in 93 to close out the season. But that is the last time we dominated a close to a season. The closest we've come since then is the prestigious 3-2 mark.

The Cowboys of the last 15 years have not been good finishers.

There's a difference in going 3-2, like in '94, when both losses were by 5 points and going 2-3 like we have the last few years when we have losses like 42-17, 35-7, 23-7 and to teams like the hapless Lions.

Another year, like '96 we end the season with a loss at Washington, after we had our playoff spot and positon secured and we rested the majority of our starters.

From '97 through '02 we had mostly bad finishes and starts with some bad play in the middle too. Of course you're going to have bad finishes when you go 6-10 or 5-11 three straight years.

The difference now is that we are getting in position to make a run at 7-3 or 8-4 and then just totally falling apart.
This isn't anything like the early to mid 90's or the hapless '00-'02 teams.
There's something seriously wrong when you show that you are capable of winnning and making the playoffs but then totally collapse in crunch time.

And, if you really want to cling to the "this happens all the time over the last decade or so, then you may want to look at the one constant over that time - Jerry *** Jones. His pathetic drafts and personnel decisions from '94 til BP arrived had a huge negative impact.
