GREAT news!!! I don't just prefer that - I LOVE IT. Defensive coordinators should be on the sideline. Period. They need to be managing the defense in real time, making adjustments as the game unfolds, and communicating directly with the players. You can't do that nearly as effectively sitting upstairs watching everything and talking into a headphone.

Get your *** on the sideline, manage your defense, make the adjustments, and coach your guys!

There's no one size fits all right answer. There have been great sideline coordinators and great booth coordinators.

You do want a set of eyes up there -- but you probably give that to Ryan Smith as Parker does a ton of work with the DBs.
