I’m thinking it was probably Pettine’s idea. From what I recall, he often was in the booth himself, so it’s probably what he’s advised Parker he would do as DC.

It’s not usually the DC anyway. It’s the position coaches that do it.

If you watch the sounds from the sidelines, you’ll see the O-Line sitting together, CeeDee and GP are almost always side by side, etc.

The DC obviously talks to anyone he wants but the between possessions sideline talks are coming from their position coach.

Any time I’ve watched a game, it’s usually the head coach, or the coordinator that gathers everybody, but you’re probably right

Therein lies the team’s biggest issue.

Completely missing the entire point of why the defense is struggling so much.

Players are blowing assignments and not prepared, moving him to the booth does nothing to fix the execution on the field.
