8:23 p.m. – So a running back, wide receiver, cornerback and linebacker all line up to race. By most accounts, it wouldn't be easy to pick the winner, but most people would bet on the linebacker coming in last out of that group.

And that's probably a good pick if the linebacker isn't Micah Parsons.

The Cowboys rookie won the Pro Bowl Skills Showdown on Thursday in a 40-yard dash, beating Tyreek Hill, Nick Chubb and teammate Trevon Diggs.

Now Hill, who dubs himself the "Cheetah" and is widely considered the NFL's fastest player, clearly wasn't running full speed. He finished last in the event but Parsons did legitimately beat out Chubb and Diggs.

On this day, the "lion" was faster than the cheetah, and all other animals in the jungle as well.

7:49 p.m. – Just like Parsons squashed the notion that linebackers aren't supposed to have elite speed, Diggs proved that some cornerbacks actually do have great hands.

That should've been known this year when Diggs led the NFL with 11 interceptions, tying a franchise record for the Cowboys that has lasted 40 years.

This week, Diggs won the "Best Catch" competition, showing off not only hands, but acrobatic skills. Diggs had a front-flip catch to win the competition, beating out his brother Stefon Diggs, along with Tyreek Hill and Justin Jefferson.

Diggs and Parsons will both play in their first Pro Bowl on Sunday in Las Vegas.

The issue is MP is young and dumb. I mean that in a good way. I think everyone can agree that MP is very competitive. The issue is I don't think others were actually trying to compete and NOT lose, but show everyone a "good time".

This race was nothing more than "Showtime" and entertainment. If during a game MP was playing TH one to one, I hate to say this, but past 30 yards, I think TH would smoke MP.

God forbid you actually hurt yourself and your pay during one of these exhibitions.

That said, given MP's size and weight, I think everyone will agree he's one of the fastest out there in his position.

Parson commented that he knew Hill was not running full speed. One thing that does not change is the fact he is a LB with outstanding speed.

As for Diggs, I would like to see him get a handful of offensive plays from time to time. He has very good hands, good speed and looks comfortable with the ball in his hand.

agree. Deion did it and Diggs looks like he could do well re another receiving option that the D would need to account for

Apparently it was "Anything can happen Thursday". Maybe Dak should have competed.

Parsons admitted Hill was faster than him. Giving him credit of playing a game this past Sunday and due to soreness from said game being as to why Hill didn't run his hardest in the event.

Sure wish they were at SB practice like the Bengals instead........I guess that's too much to ask for.
