Not only Parsons on every rush, but in the philly game last evening, a blatant jersey tug on buffalo reception with a camera shot of the incompetent ref looking in the opposite direction when the point of attack is in question. Are any of these blithering, incompetent, and corrupt over paid pieces of refuse doing anything on the field except standing there looking like the idiots and buffoons they are???? What a waste of money. We dont need no stinking refs with this caliber of officiating!!!!

Refs should be replaced with robots. At least we can re-calibrate the machine.

It could easily be solved with full-time refs with seasonal (or bi-seasonal) performance reviews. The owners don't want that though. Why?

Most of the refs are successful off the field...

I doubt you'd find a single ref that isn't really well off: many of them get their ref jobs because they rub elbows with people in power and money, which is proof they themselves are usually successful business or professional people. They're in the Good Ole Boy Football Club

So the referree job wouldn't pay as much as their "real job"....and none of them would want to quit their more lucrative day job for a less paying referee job. Plus, the referree job could quickly and abruptly come to an end if they got a bad performance review.

"Well why not hire regular Joe's or guys that referree high school games?" Well...those guys would certainly take the NFL gig, but they'd likely be WAY worse than what we're used to....and the NFL wouldn't do that.

In short....the NFL is making more money than ever....and has networks and streaming sites begging to hand them billions for their product. What motivation do they have to change?

It would take a massive drop off of viewership related to the poor officiating before the NFL would ever decide to step in and try to correct the problem.

The only real solution is to implement video replay review of possible penalties, something that no one wants because they're afraid it would make the games much longer.
