The never ending monetization of everything in this country has destroyed its soul. College athletics are a shining example.

Yes, we all miss the days when college athletes could have their bodies broken up into shambles for free.

They get full ride scholarships. That's not an insignificant number given how much money that is, but I agree, they should get more since they're putting their bodies and long-term health on the line and colleges make bank from their play.

I know the money a High School makes off a football game is insignificant compared to college… but career wise how is it any different?

You can still get seriously hurt playing HS ball, but no one will be clamoring for those kids to receive pay anytime soon,

College players already have a full ride to a degree simply for their athletic prowess, something some non-athletic would-be students would kill for. They should definitely not get any monetary contracts on top of it.
