This is not really a great excuse. If he was going to make the commitment to being on the show, which was a dumb thing to do but he did make that commitment, then he had to accept that he was going to have to come on after a loss or two unless he somehow expected to go undefeated. Basically if you make a commitment you honor it even if it does seem to be a dumb commitment to make.
