I love Micah and his play but we are seeing the reality of his limitations as a Dominant pass rusher.
He lacks the overall size to be in the league of great Pass Rushers.
Teams have clearly figured out how to neutralize him and it's obvious that he is not totally healthy.
The season and wear and tear has clearly taken a toll on him. It's hard to expect someone his size, kind of a tweener of a LB and a DE to handle the pounding.
He is getting no help from the interior of the Line and from the other Side DE's and teams can just focus on stopping him without much worry about others.
The thread title seems to be in error.
it probably should be titled as "
Not built to be a DE ",.......vs. "
not built to be dominant pass rusher "
- Is he being used as a DE in Quinn's scheme ... or is he being used as a TJ Watt like OLB in Quinn's scheme ?
Is Armstrong the starting DE .. or is it Parsons ?
- Make no mistake; Parsons is in that TJ Watt or DeMarcus Ware mold. That's an irresistable force as a edge pass rusher and that's why
teams counter scheme and game plan.
He does us far less in reverse, in coverage, and that's what an opposing team would love to much rather have.
- I could see the concerns of those that think Parsons is taking too much of a wear n tear toll going vs 330+ OTs .
.and double team chips...on seemingly an every series, every down basis.
Quinn would have to devise ways and schemes where he's going more vs TEs ..than every down 330 lb OTs.
