giants have always traditionally invested in their DL. that's why they could let guys like tomlinson walk. it' their misses on the OL in the draft and FA that have hampered their team growth imo.
You mean they traditionally pick high enough where top DL are available.

You look at the final 4 teams in the NFC, despite our defense ranking highly this year we actually have the weakest front in the field. Niners, Eagles and Giants have all gotten to this point by leaning on their front line. Trenches matter, and Dallas needs to continue to invest there heavily if they want to remain competitive in their own division. Even Washington has a dominant front 4, they’re a QB away from taking the next step. Now is not the time for the Jones boys to get cute, we need nasty and physicality on both lines.

We were eliminated last year because we couldn’t match the physicality of the Niners. A year later and it’s still the biggest concern going into this matchup.
NO we lost over 14 penalties, no run game , average run d, etc etc bad gameplan really oh and it was only by 6 , SIX...BTW TB top 10 overall defense with top run d and they are physical up front, what happened? no need to answer..we all saw who won and why.

Scouts are now looking for the smallest and weakest DT in the draft.

Exactly I just don't get it, it's all about quickly getting to the QB, but giving up getting pushed around when teams run on you!! Go get the big nasties

Issue here is pickig bottom 10 inmany drafts with maybe one of these avaible per draft its tough to draft one, niow FA is risk but maybe we get one there..just saying NT/DT1 is one of the most thin positions in every draft,,not like wr/rb/db where there many opeitons all over the draft so deep with skill players not premier grade a cant miss nts..

Yeah it's simple biology. Mother nature creates more guys in the 5'10" - 6-2" 190-225 pound range than it does 6-1" - 6'4" 300-350 pound range. Then there is the matter of gravity. Gravity makes it much more difficult for those 300+ pound guys to be very athletic.. if at all.

the best typically go top 5 or 10 at worse. no way you can trade from 25 to 5 for a NT who might be elite..what if he isnt? im sure if one feell down near us we would go for one but still BPA and uasually where we pick that other needs that are picked ,,

we finally have some payers at Safety but now fans are all over NT , i get it but they have picked many bigs and they turned out to be average payers, not bad but one day they will hit on one unless FA they finally decide to get one..FA might be the only options. a younger hankins would be nice.

I saw many teams beat us on speed rushes , zones stretches on the edges most of the games we struggled against the run. that typically a LB issue or S issue..i believe weve improved that a bit

Why on earth would DQ leave? He already failed pretty bad at being a head coach. His best job is being a DC for the DC. ;)
I agree with you and I hope he doesn't but all likelihood is he is gone. Either way, that wasnt my point of my post lol. He seemed to have influenced this front office to the importance of the position. Hopefully that influence stays whether or not he is here

They need to be slim to fit into this room:

This is why a good team is active in FA. You get an opportunity to compete for the top players that have proven themselves. The Eagles picked up two good DT's before the trade deadline and the Cowboys didn't even make an effort. A great 1T will definitely be worth the salary hit if they don't get one in the draft

Don't look now but the Giants are quietly putting together a dominant front 4..........three 1st round picks.

I'm always of the mind that first round picks should be spent on "Bigs", a.k.a. linemen, offensive or defensive. Every now and then there will be someone at another position that's special and should be taken instead, but 80% of the time it needs to be a Big.

So what’s your point . That we shouldn’t invest in The defensive tackle position? The cowboys lost to the rams in 2018 because they gave up almost three hundred yards rushing. They also lost to the 49ers last year because they couldn’t stop the run

They’ve had DT’s for a few years now, every franchise has position groups they do well in drafting and developing. No matter how bad the Giants are they usually have a formidable DL.

The key to them taking the next step will be weapons and QB play.

Micah was fawning over the Eagles DT's earlier in the season. Maybe he's trying to send a message.
