Simple math here. $47m a year gets you both Smith and Pickens. Damn near gets Bland too.

You would not get a Parsons-type in a trade for Smith and Pickens. Not close. Let’s not let the hyperbole over the trade disguise the fact that he’s a historically great pass rusher who just earned the biggest non-QB deal ever

However, what you are getting is Pickens, Bland, Clark, and 2 1’s (you’d have extended Smith either way). That is important context
