Parsons, Pitts or Surtain?

If all three are on the board at 10, who do you pick?

Love Parsons. Pitts is generational, similar to megatron in my opinion. Then there is the calm cool polished DB with Surtain.

I am very torn. Like all three players. If we go Pitts we better get some decent return trading Gallup.

They wouldn't trade Gallup.

Pitts will not be there, other than Lawrence going #1, that's the only thing I'm sure about in this draft. Pitts has too much buzz and by the time the draft actually gets here, he's going to be the combo DC/Marvel super hero.

Burrow is pushing for Chase, they should give him Pitts. He could be the next Ertz or Kelce and best friend to a young QB.

Between Parsons and Surtain, I pick Surtain because this secondary is mediocre at best, at least fix something. DE? OK DT? Not OK LB? OK CB? really NOT OK. S? Not OK

But then you've got the stop the run issue. But I am hopeful that running the 4/3 Quinn will at least have them in position to make the plays.

Pitts could be there. 5 qbs could go. Sewell and Slater could go. Chase, Waddle, and Smith could go. Surtain could go. That's 11 players right there.

Agree, I don't care about draft value, I only care if the team addresses the problems and solves them.

I noticed all of the complaining about where they drafted Yosemite went away pretty fast and he even addressed that in his first interview, his draft value v what he would bring to the team. He said he would make those unhappy, about him being selected where he was, happy and he did that.

So, they "reach" for Barmore at 10 but they got a steal with Lamb at 17 last draft, it all works out.

What is the biggest problem with this team? Run D. If they do not solve that, doesn't matter who or where they draft them.

Your first sentence suggests that you wouldn't have taken Lamb last year. That would have been a huge mistake.

Parsons may be the best player in this draft.
he is such a boom or bust. his experience as a LB is limited, but he has physical traits out of this world...he maybe the best. he may end up a total bust.... that's why I don't want to gamble and would like to make sure we get a player that produces at a high level. gambles are for 3rd, 4th round...

Pitts is another WR. Love the guy and he can be an incredible weapon, but we need to build defense. Tough decision. I take Surtain in that scenario. Parsons if they feel he is a complete stud.

Pitts and I don't give it a second thought.
If Sewell is on the board and Pitts is gone you take Sewell.

Chase is a no brainer if he falls to 10 and I wouldn't rule out Waddle.

Taking Pitts, although a sexy move, would be akin to taking Zeke at #4. You simply dont take those positions THAT high. It would be another monumental misuse of a high draft pick.

Totally false.
Pitts is a game changer and the only reason the Zeke pick looks bad now is his drop in production this early in his career. Hes still young enough to be performing at his rookie year level.

I wasn't crazy about it as the D actually got worse but I also didn't see a real D difference maker there. I wish they'd traded out. The best part of the Lamb pick are the options it gives them with Gallup.

I would have traded out but that would have also been a real challenge considering how the draft was conducted so it was more of a smh for me.

I wonder how much input Quinn has on this if it comes down to Parsons or Surtain? While the Legion of Boom was getting all of those accolades, Bobby Wagner was quietly the best player on the D and the best MLB in the game.

Quinn's best D player in ATL was also the LB, Deion Jones.

His challenge first off is stopping the run, what player helps him accomplish that the best?

Quinn's problem is the Joneses love their business partner at LB.

You just cannot spend prime draft capital on a TE or a RB. Cant do it. Not in today's NFL. TE is one of the top, if not the top bust position in the draft.

What game is Pitts going to change? Gallup, Cooper, Lamb are already leading the #1 passing offense in the NFL. We are already scoring 32 points a game under Dak of late. So now we score 35 points a game?

Law of diminishing returns.

Love Pitts, and I will probably jump out of my seat if they draft him. But when the dust settles and the Cowboys are losing 35 to 40 I will curse the pick.

Better move if Pitts is there is to trade out of the pick for someone that really wants him and get an extra 2nd rounder.

You can't reason with Pitts Crew... A elite TE will add zero wins to the win column.. Not with the roster as it stands...

I strongly believe that top 10 picks are for the following high money, most important positions in football:
QB, DE, CB, LT. If there is a serious stud at DT, then I look there as well.

TE, safety, WR, RB.........these are all lower value positions that can be had with later first round picks, 2nd day pick or at reasonable prices in FA.

He looks like a great player and it could allow us to dump Cooper after the season, but it does nothing to help us where we desperately need it.

The closer we get to the draft, the more I think trading back could be a great option.

Best post. Agreed. I’m on the parsons train but I think they go lb later on because of what you said about their love affair w jaylon.

Pitts hands down, best player!

Thanks all. I really want Parsons. It will take a year, but then all pro multiple years after that if coached correctly. Everyone is clamoring for defense. Then Pitts if we trade Gallup for an early 3rd. Then the steady bet on Surtain.
