He's also still very young. His maturity level has some room for improvement.I get the frustration with “Parsons-speak”. But all I really care about is his performance on the field, especially in big games. That’s the kind of leadership he can exert. He is literally the most gifted player on this team and he needs to show some growth and maturity this year.
Parsons doesn’t have to be a “rah-rah” leadership guy in the locker room but he cannot be a no-show for playoff games or big regular season games. That’s what matters more than podcasts or press comments.
Pretty much where I'm at with Parsons. He's not a very good football diplomat, and that's okay. He needs to have a monster playoffs if we make it back this year. He's got great talent, but his endurance appears to be a big factor. I'd be worried about making him top paid if he can't ever show that talent when we need it most.I get the frustration with “Parsons-speak”. Yep. People can bring up Irvin's bad behavior, but on the field that man was a leader and wouldn't let you down. Nor would he let other players dog it.Can you imagine Irvin getting up there and talking that weak crap. Irvin will be revered forever as the god that he is. Parsons will be remembered as a turd that cashed a few big checks. What a loser.
He is 25 years old. He is not young. He is a grown up. Stop making excuses for him. He's also still very young. His maturity level has some room for improvement.
Those are just participation trophies. So far this whole team has been basically just a bunch of stat padders. And that's why all these top 100 ratings or MVP discussions are absolutely worthless.
That was not an explanation that was someone trying to make excuses for what happened. The only thing he needed to say was that he was not good enough and he needs to do whatever it takes to be better. He needs to say that there are no good excuses for his play. It was on him. He had opportunities to make plays but he did not take advantage. He will work hard and do whatever it takes to improve and do better next time. Period. End of story.Reading that entire quote, it sounds exactly like Parsons is still trying to explain what happened against GB.
Well they're all basically now in "get over it" mode as far as the GB game goes. So I don't blame him for joining the choir. Their oh so great leader set the tone here.He is 25 years old. He is not young. He is a grown up. Stop making excuses for him.
Last year was the year to prove it and they failed on a monumental scale. This was the year for everyone to get rewarded and be heroes. We are about to lock in what you saw last year for the foreseeable future. The show me no longer matters. It never did.Well they're all basically now in "get over it" mode as far as the GB game goes. But as I said, I don't care too much about what they say rather than about what they do. And Micah, along with alot of other guys, has to step up in the play offs. Otherwise all this talent and regular season stats can go elsewhere as far as I'm concerned.
you're seeing what you want to see here, and hearing what you want to hear. that was a reasonable and sensible response.Wow those are the words of a man who will never ever ever take one ounce of ownership or responsibility. He is the opposite of leadership and accountability. Someone sit him down and make him rewatch the Green Bay game.
Sometimes you are out schemed. Putting a tackle in front of him is getting out schemed? What a baby. Trade trade trade!
i don't particularly agree. it's the absolute truth, and i don't think speaking about it in generalities is a problem. it doesn't mean you "quit" i didn't read it that way. just that best laid plans can be undone. my biggest takeaway (personally) was him saying it hurts that fans think he isn't trying to win, or that it doesn't bother him etc. more of that.I get Parsons is trying to give media friendly answers, but he did a horrible job here and it gives off a ton of red flags. If there is any truth to this statement and he or the team as a whole believes that if you go into a game with the wrong game plan you can't adjust, or that QBs can be hot and there is nothing you can do about it we are truly screwed. That is an extremely talented player who has adapted a quitters mentality while playing for this franchise. You go back and listen to rookie Micah Parsons speak to the media and tell me he would be OK with "The reality is, sometimes their team makes better plays".
I agree with the last part of your post. I have no doubt that Micah cares about winning. Had he stopped talking right there it would have been a good answer to go with.i don't particularly agree. it's the absolute truth, and i don't think speaking about it in generalities is a problem. it doesn't mean you "quit" i didn't read it that way. just that best laid plans can be undone. my biggest takeaway (personally) was him saying it hurts that fans think he isn't trying to win, or that it doesn't bother him etc. more of that.
