Last year was the year to prove it and they failed on a monumental scale. This was the year for everyone to get rewarded and be heroes. We are about to lock in what you saw last year for the foreseeable future. The show me no longer matters. It never did.
Hey @MyFairLady we get it, you are not a fan of Micah Parsons. You have made that abundantly clear in the dozen or so rebuttal post you have in this one thread. By now you are kicking a dead horse. Give it a rest. You are twice Micah's age but even you show some signs of immaturity, so don't be so quick to take that excuse away from him. Parsons still has some maturing to do. But let me say this, Zimmer likes what he sees in Parson's and points out his greatest asset is above his shoulders. So as much as you seem to love to hear yourself tear down Parson's, it has little to no value. Get over yourself.

I agree with the last part of your post. I have no doubt that Micah cares about winning. Had he stopped talking right there it would have been a good answer to go with.

To say that sometimes you get outcoached or sometimes players just make better plays than you and you have to accept that is a consistent theme with with this team and a horrible thing for your culture. It's exactly why they get punched in the mouth against a Buffalo, SF, or Green Bay and never recover. It's a similar approach to Stephen Jones saying lets just get to the playoffs and see what happens...its the 'its a crapshoot' answer and its completely wrong because the same teams continue to show up often in the CCG and super bowls year after year.

One of the RBs (Maybe Rico) had a quote recently about how hes optimistic about changes to the run game and talked about making different reads and how over complicated they were last year. In my mind that is a total organizational failure about not being able to notice a simple change and make it during the season. Micah is sort of saying the same thing that if they go into a game and a team has a different game plan than they expected they dont know what to do and its game over.

I think Micah is the best pass rusher in football. I was a huge DQ fan, I still to this day support McCarthy and believe he is a quality HC, but some of these quotes combined with a total lack of ability to make in season or even in game adjustments is becoming more and more concerning for me.
that's fair. just not the read i get. if it's said about the future "hey we're going to try, but sometimes you get outcoached" i'd be like what the hell? but talking about the past, or in general, yeah it doesn't bother me the same. thanks for the explanation

if you are going to talk the talk better walk the walk
Parsons has talked a lot but late in the season and in the playoffs he has not walked the walk

1 sack in 4 playoff games is pretty bad. And it's not just the abysmal sack total, he is making no real difference out there on the field in these games. Parsons generates his numbers in bunches against weaker opponents, usually earlier in the year. By the stretch run of the season and the playoffs, he looks worn down and ineffective. Does some of that have to do with his smaller size and trying to play a position that usually has more size? Maybe. It seemed early in his career, we used him in much more different ways. Moved him around. Not sure what changed and if this is something he wanted to do. But it isn't working. This is team wide from the players to the coaches. We take big steps backward in the playoffs on both sides of the ball. And still have no idea how to beat SF.

If he wasn’t always standing up next to the ball carrier being tackled, I’d be satisfied with his effort. Till then there’s more want-to to be had.

I don’t question his abilities and don’t might the sack production decreasing late in season. However, he is not even among the top half of the starting defense in terms of physicality. When the cowboys get punched in the mouth, he is among the team leaders in allowing that to happen.

Well he could say "our QB sucks rotten eggs in big games" but I guess that sounds bad too!

Yet he had Love, the QB that destroyed them, on his podcast like 2 weeks later.

Cowboys LB Micah Parsons sees an 'interesting year' in new DC Mike Zimmer's scheme
Published: Aug 01, 2024 at 05:04 PM

For the first time since Mike Zimmer became the Dallas Cowboys' defensive coordinator, Micah Parsons went in-depth on what his role might be this season in the new scheme. And it sounds like he's in favor of the plan.

"I think it's gonna be a very interesting year," Parsons said, via the team’s official website. "What I'm gonna be doing is a whole bunch of stuff -- dropping in the flats, curls, it's really everything. They're expanding my versatility and using me in ways I should be used, and moving me around to make [offenses] ID me from other places; and [sending] me when they should send me.
