Someones gotta do it. Collins looked really good last night and so has Parsons for that matter. I liked Collins a lot and wouldve been happy with him in a trade down if it happened. I think these two will be linked together and I think Collins will benefit from a much better defense. Yes, I think this defense is once again overhyped. Our DT position is terrible right now and who knows how long the best one in Neville will be out.

No, don't do it, No one has to do it.

I said you have no back up C, no back up OT, no DTs, and you win football games in the trenches. Welcome to the real football world and not Jerry's Fantasy Football World.

Both good players let's see who shows out for 17.

Collins was linked to the Cowboys as interested in drafting him in January / February. By the media of course.
However it is way too early to start this debate between the two. Parsons was ranked a top 10 player, and if he would have played, probably a top 5. Collins was always a late teens to early mid 20's pick.
Please do not start a Taco vs. Watt thing after a PS game.

yup he went there and Collins while he might be good, is an LVE clone and we didnt need another player like that, Parsons is much more flex ca play all over, could play DE if they wanted him FT over there, hes fast instinctive and still has upside..if this is the raw Parsons i cant wait for the mature vet parsons..

IMO at the moment they maybe comparable but Parsons has more upside..

They’re both pretty similar players in some ways. However, Parsons is a freakish athlete and a better pass rusher.

I think Collins is the more NFL-ready LB, but Parsons’ ceiling is out of this solar system.

These two won’t be compared much moving forward. It hasn’t been brought up until now and it probably won’t be brought up again until these teams play again. Regardless, Parsons is better.

I've watched Collins play since his HS days at Hominy. The youngin is a beast, but he can't impact a game in as many ways as Parsons can. I watch Parsons and I see a potential Derrick Thomas.
The great Derrick Thomas was a 3-4 linebacker and a complete menace as a pass rusher. Never mind that parsons won’t play the same role. This is crazy talk.

The biggest drawback in comparison of Parsons vs Collins is going to be because of the scheme. Collins is going to do A LOT of blitzing and single read and react. Parsons is going to be asked to do a lot more processing and reacting.

This team is still in a reactive defensive scheme that's built to keep things in front. AZ uses a much more aggressive scheme to try and dictate to the other team. In other words, the Cowboys are still living in the 90s on both sides of the ball and in Jerry's mind.

ROGHHT maybe you are stuck in the 90s because DQ didn't coach in the 90s , hes actually has had some of the best defensive teams in the nfl..this decade , Marinelli and Garett are gone..those defensive schemes are gone and Jerry doesn't coach, so please leave the tired lame narratives you believe make you special to keep quoting at the sign up page LOL

DQ will adapt and use a hybrid scheme and use Parsons everywhere..

DQ didn't develop his scheme from the ground up. It's based on Pete Carroll's schemes. Which are mostly read and react based schemes. It's based on a time when the west coast offense--quick passing schemes dominated the NFL. With the speed and athleticism of modern offenses, as well as the wide adoption of the spread and RPOs, if you sit back and wait, you're gonna give up yardage all day. It relies on tightening down in the red zone when you have less space to read and react within.

All of you out there thinking DQ runs some hyper aggressive defense that is going to send people (Parsons) from all over the place need to go watch A LOT more film. DQ does not blitz any more than any other Cowboys defenses have the last two regimes.

I've been on this forum over a decade longer than you, son. Jerry puts the pieces in place. With the exception of Moore, the entire coaching staff is made up of retreads of former glory. It's a fart in the wind wish to recapture old magic. This team needs to stop kicking the tires on other peoples trash and get back to being innovative ON the field.

Oh, the "I'm right, you're wrong because I said so" argument. I don't argue with children. You're not equipped for it yet, son.

sorry you are wrong its in fact not 90s defense and jerry doesnt coach..of course he out the pieces together hes the gm and owner that his job like the other 31 teams
ok SON..

the fact you said that makes you the old outdated fan , get with the times DQ runs hybrid , not 90s and will run some 3-4 and may not blitz alot but you dont get all the sacks from blitzes..parsons can get to the qb from straight sets..OLB hybrid DE rush the passer like a traditional DE and he also will blitz him some..

you have no point ended when you think we run 90s defense without facts,

so go away 90s fan.. you are stuck in an old outdated narrative..

Living in the past will stunt your future.
