ok so it came to my attention that our Parsons, who we ended up with in this years draft rd 1 pick 12, also got 3rd for our troubles, of late some here have been wondering why his stats have diminished with his big plays you cant see etc

hes just been a player right now, playing solid football and used like a swiss army knife all over the field as a rookie.

Well I.Simmons was taken by the cards in the 2020 draft 1st round 8th overall..

much of the same thing was said about him pre-draft and throughout his rookie year..8th was looking way high for Simmons looking at him as rookie.

He and Parsons are a lot alike as players and the way they are being used in the nfl. They are built about the same,

parsons maybe bit thicker at 6'3 248 vs Simmons at 6'4 238 but overall they are virtually the same type of player physically and their games.

Well this season Simmons has nearly reached his rookie totals by game 8 and showing signs of why they took him so high. I mean any player at 8 would be hard to live up to that but thats not his fault.

Well i believe Parsons will have the same jump his second season and think the same as i did the 1st 3 weeks as i do now and believe he's still that special layer regardless of his stat sheet this season.

I have zero idea on Simmons personality traits etc , don't know him at all but I know Parsons seems to be a steal in that area as mature leader with the right attitude.

I figured i drop few lines as it hit me few in here have been wondering why Parsons doesn't seem as impactful as the beginning if the year and i believe big plays or not he's still playing well and Simmons had similar start adjusting to the nfl and playing so many positions..

this is better then another Dak/Rush thread dominating the front page LOL

Well at least they didn't drafted Jeff Okudah...poor Lions.

Honestly, I don't know who Simmons is.....sorry, that said.....Parsons has not disappointed

Simmons hardly played his rookie year, so with Micah starting from Day 1 I expect him to grow a lot by the time Playoffs come around. Second year jump should be good for #11.. I look for him to take a leadership role, and have a better understanding of what offenses are doing.

played all 16 and facts are parsons was on snap count hasnt had ton of snaps early..

this is why i made the post..

I wanted Isaiah Simmons too. Elite 5 tool player.

But Parsons is the better player.

Parsons was the most talented player in his draft class, it was not even close.
and yet fans cried we took him at 12 oh so glad we didn't take him at 10 the crybabies' are out..

not sure if MOP is better if you watch they seem like the same player..hence this post..

so sick of daks calf and rush posts..so here we are lol

some of us were begging for him to be the pick

The Simmons I know plays for Tennessee, and he's better than anyone we have on the Front 7.

The pre draft hype on that guy was like Pitts this past year.

I'm sure both will be pretty good players, not guaranteed hall of famers as people wanted to make them.

Pitts has the most receiving yards of any rookie TE ever through the first 6 or so games. And that includes Pitts not getting many targets the first two weeks.

Isaiah Simmons did not play well his rookie year. Some thought of him as a bust. He has very similar measurables to Parsons. I think Parsons is a better pass rusher. While Isaiah Simmons is a better pass defender. Just my opinion.

I like Parsons. But he has a lot to learn. Same with Isaiah in his rookie season. Both will be very good linebackers for years to come.

simmons draft position was not questioned

Sure, but he is far from "uncoverable" at this level which is what he was hyped as.

A top ten TE will help Atlanta about as much as TJ Hockensen is helping the Lions win games.

Teams drafting that high have bigger problems, and there's a reason why that position isn't usually taken top ten, let alone fourth overall.

Nice players, both of them. Awful draft value.

I beg to differ J Chase, and Slater are having outstanding seasons. I would still like Parson of the three. Especially at pick 12 with a third rd thrown in.
