I saw this, but they are still trying to confirm it.

Calculating the time dilation would be a *****! I seriously doubt time would reverse.

As you know, time is almost certainly not just as we currently understand it to be. Great stuff.

Physicists have found that tiny particles called neutrinos are making a 454-mile (730-kilometer) underground trip faster than they should — more quickly, in fact, than light could do. If the results are confirmed, they could throw much of modern physics into upheaval.

"The consequences would be absolutely revolutionary and very profound," said physicist Robert Plunkett of the Fermilab laboratory in Batavia, Ill., who was not involved in the new study. "That's why such a claim should be treated very carefully and validated as many ways as you can."
Rewriting the rules

The results come from the OPERA experiment, which sends sprays of neutrinos from CERN in Geneva to the INFN Gran Sasso Laboratory in Italy. Neutrinos don't interact with normal atoms, so they simply pass through the Earth as if it were a vacuum.

Time travel by 2014

Man, not that quickly. And not in my lifetime, but I remember a physicists who said we would only be able to travel forward in time and not backwards, I forgot why that was. But probably has to do with the fact space is expanding or at least the stars are speeding up as they expand outward. Then again, we can't possibly make the world faster to any substantive degree, so time travel seems useless to me since we haven't figured out how to live in space yet.

Time travel already exist. What the hell do you think you're doing right now? Traveling through time! :laugh2:

I can't remember the name of the physicist who talked about why this is true.

Time is actually my favorite topic. But speed is cool too. Just think if we could capture these particles and propel and object with them. Zoooooom!

Motion (speed) and time and directly related! :)

I completely understand that concept. But may this be because of our misperception of light? If we can move forward in time, what does that say about this time...like now, and now and now and now?

Someday, I'll beat time.

As your energy vibrates through the three spatial dimensions and the seven curled up Calabi–Yau shaped dimensions you are progressing through time as time and space are a single continuum! Time is the the 11th dimension as defined by Superstring Theory / M-Theory! This is why it's referred to as space-time! :p:

To time travel back in time you would have to inverse all actions of the universe! Take a second to fathom that. Every atom of the ocean moving, all the electrons circling those atoms would have to reverse what has already happen. The oceans are tiny compared to the universe! It would be an unfathomably monumental task to reverse time!

Now, where the hell did I leave that Universe Remote with the rewind button! :laugh2:

You should look at research on binary stars where they're so close together they're orbiting each other at 6 min per rotation warping the fabric of space-time.

What I want to know is when space-time rips and prior to it healing itself, what the hell is on the other side!?!?!? :laugh2:

I remember when I was getting a hair cut in the barber shop one time and on both sides of the wall, in front of you and directly behind you were gigantic mirrors. When mirrors are facing each other they reflect the other limitlessly and instantaneously. This is how I imagine the universe working. The "outer rim" if you want to call it that, is always expanding at warp speeds. The expansion being made up of the same thing it is expanding from. I mean I certainly don't see the universe like some World of Warcraft land where you can bump in to an invisible boundary.

Do you really want to know? Allow me to show you just what was sealed away so long ago behind space and.......... time.

Please remember that YOU asked. :(
