You always like to hear that your sum is greater than its parts. That collectively you come up stronger than you do individually.
I would argue great teams have just that. We do not.
1) Our O-line. 3 pro-bowlers, Adams, Davis, Gurode.
Please tell me why our o-line is so freaking great? They haven't opened holes all season except for the 4th quarter. I've argued all year that Romo has made them look better in pass protection than they are because of his pocket presence. You're telling me, looking back at the season that line looked like a 60% pro-bowl line? I disagree with that.
2) Our Secondary 2 pro-bowlers, 1 alternate. Newman, Hamlin, Williams.
Now true, I think you have to lump Bradie and Akin in our pass coverage (lets assume an average pass rush). But how can a banged up secondary from NY shut down our passing game, but with 3 pro-bowlers out of 5 (Henry, Reeves) and this is what we see, 48 seconds and tying touchdown?
Tough, but I think both of these are the case of our parts being greater than their sum.
