Wade's reputation of being one of the best at making halftime adjustments is reflected in these numbers. In every category, the pass defense has been much better in the 2nd half of games, with a 2nd half passer rating almost 25 points lower than in the 1st half. Coming out after halftime, our pass D has been stifling opponents. In three games, we've allowed a total of six completions in the third quarter.

Looking at game-by-game 2nd half pass defense, Dallas has allowed lower completion percentages and passer ratings in the 2nd half of every game. (Consider that a lot of those 196 2nd half yards against the Packers came in late 4th quarter garbage time.)

Glad to see how good our defensive plays in the 2nd half.

For what it's worth, the Skins defensive supposedly has only given up 10 points in 3 games in the 1st & 4th quarters. I guess the Cowboys are going to have to blow up those stats.

You guys really haven't had a single INT all season long? Wow...

Somehow I think you'll be singing a different tune 27 hours from now.

And JC's QB rating is 128 in the fourth. Me thinks something's gotta give.

Maybe he can do like Rodgers and rack up a bunch of garbage stats when we're trading points for time.

Good post, Percy. Just imagine how good those stats would be if we had Dom Capers. /sarcasm

Not talking just 4th qtr now, but the whole game...

In 2007, Campbell played 4 games against teams ranked in the top 12 in defensive passer rating. He didn't do well against the better pass D's. His rating in those four games was 74.6

In 2008 so far, Campbell had an 81 rating against the Giants (17th in defensive passer rating last season), a 104 against the Saints (32nd), and a 112 against Arizona (22nd).

Cowboys ranked 5th last year in defensive passer rating.

I'm not specifically trying to take anything away from Campbell... but that Saint's defense when they played Washington was one of the worst displays of defense I've seen in I don't know how long. Bad run defense and absolutely horrid secondary. If they don't do something different, they'll allow close to the NFL record in points this season.

They were just awful. I watched that game and the Saints absolutely had a win if they could have managed to play any semblance of defense. Unfortunately, they couldn't, and they lost.

I knew Campbell would look much improved against them and that he (and thus the team) would get some confidence going forward. Unfortunately, the Arizona defense isn't much better and Campbell was able to have some decent numbers against them as well.

It will be very interesting to see how he does against some of the better defenses in the NFL.

The Saints looked that way because they were without their 3 TOP corners. That's like us playing without TNew, AH. and AJ. The thing is, the Saints were still in the game and could have won...

And not to mention they didn't have Colston on offense

For all the denigration the defense receives here, we had one bad half this year where we did give up 30 points but 14 of those points weren't the fault of the defense.

In the other 2.5 games we've given up 33 points and 7 of those were garbage time points given up to the Packers in prevent defense.

The TOs haven't come yet but I'm hoping they'll start to roll in over time as the pressure is there and the coverage is better this year.

Any team can have an off-day.

The 1992 Cowboys lost to the lowly Rams in Texas Stadium on their way to a SB trashing of the Bills.

They ran the same play about 8 times and scored 5 TD's on them.
