Our past rush has been awful. Williams is our top guy. Why not out Gary at d t on passing downs? He's 277. He can handle it for 10 plays game. Put Lawrence on the edge. He's our fastest most explosive lber. Its not working so fsr. Be creative.

Yep. In a 4-3 defense he's your DT. In a 3-4 defense he's your LDE with an OLB playing to the left of him.

Like I always say boring people lack creativity.

When teams go 3 wide on passing downs, you usually have 4 lineman anywaty
True. But if a team runs on first down for no gain, or a loss, is a guarantee the next play is a pass. So it doesn't have to be three wide or third down it can be situational.

What passrush package? They only have one good rusher.

Plus they can't cover anybody so the rush has no chance to get home anyway.

I think the idea of getting creative on passing downs is worth exploring. If the current rush isn’t generating enough pressure, moving guys around to create better matchups makes sense. Gary at DT with Lawrence coming off the edge could at least give the offense a different look and potentially put our most explosive rushers in positions to win. Ten snaps a game is certainly manageable if the coaching staff thinks the matchup works. Two sacks today is a good start. We all want more though.
