Is there any way we can draft two pass rushers & two defensive backs with the two 1st rd. picks we have?

This team obviously have neither if they can't even stop the Lion's passing attack!!

I would like to see us get better DLinemen. Not necessarily a pass rusher but a guy that can take up more blockers.

With Detroits OL giving up as many sacks as they have this year, who would have thought that our pass rush would have been non-existent today. Today, we played down to our opponent. Detroit has played their best game this year, unfortunately, we have played far below our usual capabilities.

This was the first game in a long time where the pass rush was ineffective

Hats off to Lions coaching staff they gameplanned the cowboys trying to be aggressive coming after the QB so they ran it on the team detroit ran it more times today then they have all season. With the fear of the run the pass rush slows down.

I'm willing to give Ware, Ellis and co. a pass for this one as they've generally been very good this season. Still, there were some worrying signs in this game.

Exactly. Look at how the Patriots D has been getting owned lately. I dont want a "Blueprint" on how to beat us. Especially at this point in the season.

The pass rush is fine..

Its just that its way to inconsistent ...

When the pass rush isn't there the defense suffers

The real problem of this defense is 3rd down when we play soft zone coverage. Our soft zone coverage on third and long absolutely sucks eggs. This is why below average QBs the likes of Kitna, Jason Cambell, and Aaron Rodgers end up throwing for large chunks of yardage against us, or are moderately effective.

Wade played a totally vanilla defense, and the Lions went max protect.

The D-line is fine, we do have 3 very good DTs, I still want a cover corner and a WR myself with our first two picks. Best available and JJ doesn't have to do anything wild to WOW me. Just get two good players who can help what from my perspective is a good defence.

Good post. Plus we seemed flat today. Poor tackling as well. We won and now let's whip the Eagles.

You hit it.....

Everytime we have third and long I cringe.

I just know we're going to rush four and play the soft zone.

It hasn't worked all year. QBs simply have too much time to pick us apart.

Few teams can get consistent pressure on the QB rushing four guys.

If you notice, a lot of teams are going max-protect against us, because of the pressure Wade's defense tends to bring up front when he's aggressive. Even the Patriots went max protect on the second half to counter the pressure. The lions went max protect from the very beginning, and ran the ball, while Dallas was expecting pass.

That seems to be standard against us now. It doesn't look like Dallas is trying to do things up front to counter the max protect, and are simply content with letting the DL man-up, and the secondary playing the soft-zone.

And plus our MLB can't cover worth jack. I was surprised, because it seems that Burnett didn't play that much.

Never takes long for you're type to come out, usually after a loss, which is why you've resorted to complaining if they don't win by enough.

Lions always are tough at home. Give them credit for a good game plan. Their most rushing attempts and TD's in like 40 games. Kitna throws to a spot. very hard to defend when his protection is up to par. They were running well enough to really keep the Boy's pass rush second guessing.

But a WIN is a WIN. Maybe they should look for a TE in the draft to. Witten did fumble right?
