I think frankly that should be our goal in round 1.

Who out there is worth it and we have a shot at?

Either OLB or DE

If DeCastro is there at #14... He has to be taken.

imo i dont see a de worth taking at 14.
IMO Devon Still will not grade out as good as JJ watt did last year.
Thats not to say i dont like him but i'm not excited about him.
I honestly think moving Rat to de and taking a true NT like Poe or Ta'amuu in round 2 is the way to go.

As far as OLB i think Irvin is the most dynamic pass rusher, Ingram showed flashes today but its not a top heavy draft class for that type of guy imo.

Irvin probably will be a 2nd rounder IMO. I also like his teammate Julian Miller as maybe a 3rd rounder. The Orange Bowl should give us a good glimpse of the two, as well as Clemson's Andre Branch.

No... There isn't a 3-4 DE worth taking at #14.

Unless we hear from the Cowboy's braintrust that they are considering moving Ratliff to DE, I'm not spending any time considering it.

The 3-4 OLB types aren't knocking my socks off... I'm seeing a much of guys, Ingram included who look like they'll top out at 6-8 sacks a years... Spencer-like really. And for all the gruff Spencer takes on these boards, he's decent vs the run and I'm not sure any of these kids are going to be as good vs the run.

Ingram at SC as pass rusher. Kosiers injury probably throw a monkey wrench into the pass rush plan which I agree is priority one.

we also need a replacement for Newman a day one starter at CB is hard to find past the 1st.

1st down pass rushers are all OLBs, I don't see a 3-4 OLB like Watt in this draft
Melvin Ingram looks alot like Terrell Suggs to me
Courtney Upshaw, get compared to laMarr Woodley by many
Andre Branch will be a late 1st or early 2nd.
Nick Perry is said to be able to play 3-4 OLB
Others are Whitney Mercilus, Vinny Curry, Bruce Irvin, Brandon Jenkins and Cam Johnson.

As for CBs
Morris Claiborne, Janoris Jenkins, Chase Minnifield are really the only day one ready CBs I like but may all be 1st round picks.

I think it would be real smart to trade our 2nd and next years 2nd to move up in the 1st and get Ingram and Jenkins.

As for 3-4 DE that can get a pass rush in the first two rounds are
Billy Winn, Jared Crick, Derek Wolfe, Fletcher Cox, Brandon Thompson, Marcus Froston.

no just makes it alot more of a need to go and get Nicks or Grubbs. We can bring back Holland or Dockery to play RG or draft a OG in the 3rd.

If Dallas looks to OLB in the 1st rd then Courtney Upshaw, Alabama and Melvin Ingram would be excellent picks.

Dallas has so many holes to upgrade; I think they take the best player available at a position of need. In no particular order: CB, S, OLB, OG, C, DE.

The defensives ability to stop basic pass plays and duress 'hail marry' type passes is sickening. I don't care how much pressure we get, many QB's know to just throw the ball up for grabs and the worst case scenario is an incompletion. I can't recall the last time we consistently made a QB pay for just throwing the ball up for grabs. Eli has killed us for years with that simple play.

I agree. My response was who was out there as a pass rusher and likely to be on the board at 14. I like OG DeCastro, I like CB Dre Kirkpatrick who may be there at 14. I would not be upset with OLB Ingram or Upshaw either.

Right now I'm thinking either Dre Kirkpatrick or DeCastro at 14. I'd be fine with either.

Which one to take depends on what we do in FA. I guess I'm slightly leaning towards CB because I think this Draft is good for OGs. We may even be able to get a starter in Round 3. We should definitely be able to get an immediate starting OG in Round 2 this year.

That said, there may be no safer pick in this year's draft than DeCastro.

Anyway, I think we would be fine with either player.
