Good information given by Mickey Spagnola, about the Cowboys needing to keep both picks, and getting a wr, cb, and rb with their 1st (3) overall picks. There was a brief disussion of trading up for McFadden, but like many of us agree with on this board, we are still a few players away from a Super Bowl appearance, not 1 player.

That's the most I've ever seen Micky smile. Usually he looks either super-serious or pissed off.

This draft is deep in team mouth pieces with short man syndrome.

:laugh2:

If only Campo didn't have the poodle/lapdog thing locked up, Mic would be top dog.

yeah ok...like you knew the Giants were primed for a super bowl last yr huh? you honestly believe they were better off than us going into the season, or even at the end of it?

Mickey was right in his analysis... Dallas won't give up the ranch just to trade up to get McFadden. They are best served addressing the CB with the 22nd pick.

No, they are best served by taking the highest rated player they have on their board that fits a need

it might be a CB...then again it might be a WR or possibly a RB

Or they might decide they have someone rated very highly that they are sure will help the team this yr and down the road, and move up to get him. Which with this team would be exactly the right thinking to have. We dont have many holes or have roster spots for a whole bunch of picks to walk into. Get the best players possible where we need the help at instead of sitting around waiting for lesser guys to fall in our lap and "settling" for someone who may or may not work out

We've also got quite a few positions to fill w/Ferguson/JReeves/NJones & KDavis/JJones/TThompson/OHoyte gone & maybe Ayodele & Glenn on the bubble. That's 7-9 potential players we must replace either in the draft, FA, signing undrafted FA rookies, players from our own PS, etc. Also, don't believe it's smart to trade away our 4-7 round picks because we doubt any of them make the roster. There some good players who will be available in those rounds; ILB Beau who we bringing in for a look-see is projected to go in 4th & so is SS Tom Zbikowski; FB Peyton Hillis projected go in 5th round as is 4.35 WR speedster WR Dexter Jackson (sp?) could be good return man/Glenn's successor. Also who knows where CB Jack Ikegwounu falls due to his Jan 08 knee injury.

Not to be disagreeable, but you are overstating the need to "fill" these spots. Those players are gone b/c we have chosen to go a different way. Ferguson was traded b/c we have ratliff and tank at NT. Reeves (who was not good) and NJones were cb depth that we clearly intend on addressing in the draft. Thompson and Jones were let go b/c again, we are going to address in draft, and we have a probowler there as well. Ayodele being "on the bubble"...well that is not b/c he is playing poorly and we are going to cut/trade and thus need to replace him, it is b/c he in fact has been replaced by thomas. We dont need to "fill" the ILB position, and everyone knows this. Hoyte is gone b/c Deon Anderson is now healthy and will be the fullback.

So yeah, cb/rb - needs that require "filling", but other than that, you just arent really paying attention to our team.
