Do you want to know why Cedric the Entertainer goes by the name "Cedric the Entertainer?"

It's because if he didn't constantly remind you that he was an "entertainer", then no one would ever know.

He isn't funny, and his acts are never entertaining.

But this is a pretty effective tactic. I hear that Wade Phillips has legally changed his name to Wade the Head Coach.

Yeah that's why PC was the only Cowboy to go.

I remember a time when 7th round draft picks were fan favorites and fans rooted for them because they were considered underdogs. We follow them thru training camp and preseason hoping they would make the final roster. Because if they did it means our scouts and coaches did a great job in getting a useful player in what is largely seen as a throw away pick. Somehow Crayton just never seemed to fit that mold and instead gets routinely blasted.

Some guys are easy to root for, he isn't. His mouth is too big, and he doesn't bring enough game to the table to offset it.

In practice Crayton never drops anything, but when the lights are on - I've seen him drop a sure TD right in his hands twice when facing the QB. His huge drop against the Giants, and his slip up on the route when we were in the 2 minute drill. All of this, accompanied by the bulletin board material he constantly gave the Giants - makes him a very easy target.

How true! Me and a few friends were discussing that last night. If it weren't for the Giants playoff loss, 84 would be loved...okay liked by most Dallas fans. But he's been a punching bag for it ever since, even though most within the organization believes he has the best hands on the team! Not to mention he's probably our most consistent WR on the roster now that Ochente Uno dons red, white, & blue!

In practice Crayton never drops anything, but when the lights are on - I've seen him drop a sure TD right in his hands twice when facing the QB. His huge drop against the Giants, and his slip up on the route when we were in the 2 minute drill. EVERY WR drops passes...yes even easy, hits you in your hands catches! But Crayton's under a microscope to Dallas fans for whatever reason (probably his mouth...see above quote) and will never get BOTD while he dons the Star, IMO! He's like a junior T.O., without the starpower (or talent)!!

Sadly, I'm not surprised; I expect it at this point.

Crayton has a rep for having good hands because he catches a high percentage of the passes actually thrown at him in games and has done so since the days when Terry Glenn was on the roster. It has nothing to do with his play in practice.
