I'm doing some salary cap research, to try and get a workable figure for where the Cowboys are in 2006, and I realized that Patrick Crayton is not listed with NFLPA as having a base salary in 2006. Is this true? Does anyone know if something has changed in regards to his contract, or is he still signed through 2006? If he is, the NFLPA doesn't seem to know about it.

ESPN reported this as his signing status after last year's draft:

Patrick Crayton
Signing bonus: $37,750
2004 base: $230,000
2005 base: $305,000
2006 base: $385,000

But again, the NFLPA website shows nothing of this 2006 season.

May be a situation where he has the opportunity to void after this year? Either way he is going nowhere and wont cost too much.

Maybe, but the voidables are usually listed there until they are voided.

I agree he won't cost much, but if he's really a free agent (which I doubt), it could be the difference between a solid player for $385,000, or one thats costs double that money.

Why would a team give a 7th round draft choice voidable options? I think its an oversight by the NFLPA.

It is a normal team option year for a young undrafted guy that is totally unguaranteed I would assume. Under contract or not Crayton isn't going naywhere because the Boys would have his rights as a RFA at a minimum.
