Cowboys wide receiver Patrick Crayton is dealing with a crisis Wednesday night.

Crayton, who will compete for Dallas' No. 2 wideout spot this summer, is searching for his missing 25-year old cousin. Brannon Crayton, who lives in Richardson, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, has autism.

Crayton said his cousin wouldn't hurt anyone and is harmless, but wants him to return home safetly.

A February 2007 report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said more than 1.5 million Americans live with effects of autism spectrum disorder.

The same report said in a survey of eight-year-olds in 2000 and 2002, that autism had risen to one in every 150 American children and almost one in 94 boys.

"Any assistance the public can offer in Dallas is greatly appreciative," said Fred Lyles, Crayton's agent. "We've contacted the local police and they are doing all they can to find him. The family, including Patrick, is out in the neighborhood looking for Brandon."

The cousin of Cowboys wide receiver Patrick Crayton is missing.

Brannon Crayton, who is 25 and autistic, was last seen on Coit Road in Richardson Wednesday between 3:30 and 4 p.m., according to Crayton's agent Fred Lyles. He was wearing a gray t-shirt and blue jeans and is 5 feet 9 inches, 185 pounds. Dallas and Richardson police have been contacted by the family about the disappearance.

If anybody has any information the family asks they call the Dallas or Richardson police.

"Patrick is real close to his cousin," Lyles said. "He's really concerned. Any assistance the public can give and help the family is greatly appreciated."

Brannon Crayton, the cousin of Cowboys wide receiver Patrick Crayton, was found safe and sound. He was last seen at about 3 p.m. in the 14200 block of Haymeadow Drive, near Spring Valley Road and Coit Road, in Far North Dallas.


He was found at a 7-Eleven early this morning.

i'm just glad he was found ok. i wonder how many times patrick has to go through this with his cousin! i wonder if they ever considered putting like a necklace/bracelet or something with a GPS in it so he could be found at all times.

Very good to hear.

My biggest fear at this point of my life is one of my children being harmed, specifically abducted/lost. It is something I worry about alot and they are not even old enough to be out of the house without me yet, besides preschool.

I know his cousin was 24 but that has to be a very difficult thing to go through.
