Ok, this might have already been asked, and if so - humor me and answer again :)
This time last year Peterson was the choice of around 90% of posters on here. Now we've seen both play an entire year. Take your pick - Peterson or Smith?

(someone please take out that e after Tyron!!)

I can't imagine a single person picking Peterson over Smith at this point. Even if Peterson was good for 5 picks, an interception return touchdown and a couple special team return touchdowns per year and shut down ability throughout the prime of his career, I still think I would pick Tyron. Franchise tackle > franchise cornerback.

Im happy with Tyron Smith. He will be a stud for years to come. Now just hope that Decastro falls to 14.

Since this is a fantasy thread i'll bite

You know what i would. Doesnt mean im not happy with tyron(e) :D

I wanted PP more than any player last year and wish we had him.

obviously I would have done things differently from the second round on in the draft last year as well as free agency to get a tackle but I love the playmaking ability of Peterson. I'll feel better once Tyron puts up a solid year at LT i hope it's the no brainer transition everyone if calling for.

I'd trade two Patrick Petersons for one Tyron Smith.

Heck, I may even trade one for Tyrone Smith.

...those two together would be..........

I wasn't posting on this board draft time last year, but I was avidly hoping for Peterson on another Cowboys site. I'm a huge LSU fan and wanted nothing more than to get P.P, but I'm so glad we sat still and made the smart move. Besides imagine had we traded up and given up that 3rd that landed us Murray? No thanks.

To early to say. Peterson looks to be a big time CB and beyond that a exceedingly rare return talent as evidenced by his 4 TD returns.

Only game I watched him play in was against Dallas and I thought he more than held his own.

Don't get me wrong -- Tyrone Smith had a very good rookie year at RT -- I think I saw he ranked 10th overall according to PFF and he is the absolute prototype of a LT so he has worlds of upside.

I'm just saying the crazy talk of not being willing to trade Tyrone for 2 or even 5 Patrick Petersons is just silly.

I like smith alot. But Peterson wanted every piece of Dez in their match-up. I still think Peterson becomes a dynamic player..give it another year or two. If I had to pick at this stage I go with Peterson until I see Smith can play LT well. If he can...then I move my pick over to Smith.

With Peterson in the secondary and returning punts for TDs, we might have made the playoffs.

Without Smith at right tackle, Tony Romo might be dead.

I'll stick with the guy who keeps my quarterback alive.

Let me ask this question. Who do you think is the better prospect, Tyron or Kalil? Tyron lasted until 9 for us, but he's projected 3rd.
Just curious what people might think. Tyron is an athletic freak. We might have got a steal at 9. I guess we will all know at this time next year how the LT thing went.

Smith all day every day. In a passing league, you have to keep your QB upright.

If both would have come out the same year, I'm pretty sure most draft "experts" would have Kalil rated higher. Most last year were saying that Smith was the 2nd best O-line prospect on USC.

Patrick Peterson had a very good rookie campaign but based the league being pass happy then Tyron Smith had just as good a rookie season on the oline.

90% of us wanted Peterson? I don't recall that at all.

I'm happy with Smith but i would have been just as happy with Peterson both would fill a huge need for us. OT is not a need anymore while CB is still one of our biggest

i would say it was more 60/40 than 90/10%

a lot of us were squarely in on drafting smith with the first pick

very happy with smith
