You and SDogo are right. But think back to just last year and answer this question honestly. Could you realistically mock Dez Bryant down to 24?

Stranger things have happened.

I'll give you that for sure.

I remember posting way before last year's draft how wishing (my wish) Dallas could draft Dez Byrant was really just a pipe dream.

I never thought it was going to be possible.

Here's to hoping Peterson picks up a drug habit sometime between now and the Draft!

Top 10 picks are scrutinized to hell and back. It's such a valuable resource and the money paid is so large, you almost have to selct a player who fills a significant need.

Lets say half the top 8 just can't justify selecting a DB over other players availible who fill more pressing needs and the other half have legit questions about him as a CB.
Perhaps they feel his game translates better to FS and don't want to spend a top 8 pick on a player who'll be changing positions.

Perfectly legit rational on why he could slip to 9. And if that happened I'd be all over him as our new FS.

You have a point, but Dez's character concerns were so overblown it was ridiculous. It was known league wide he was a top 5 talent and at some point he was even mocked 3 to TB before all the "character concerns", but for the most part many people knew he would fall come draft day.

Even w/ the character concerns I think people had him as high as 12 to Miami till Ireland dissed his mother and if I'm not mistaken I think it was Kirwan and a few other analysts had him going 27 to us. I know I had him going to us in a trade up with Cincy 21st.

Peterson has no character concerns, seem like a smart kid, dominated the combine, and owned college football as the consensus #1 defensive player. He's a GM's dream. I just see no way he falls to 9.

You are right though, stranger things have happened(Moss). But like I said in my other posts basically all 8 teams before us could use a corner.

Dez had a pretty radical grade across the NFL going into the draft. I know of at least two teams who had second round grades on him and 1 that had him off the board all together. The other 28 teams not off their rocker had him anywhere from top 10 to 32.

Be honest with you and I hate the comparison, the last player I ever remember like that was Randy Moss.
