can someone make a reasonable mock draft that gets peterson to 9

The only possible way he lasts to 9 is if somebody makes a big trade up and a run on QB's happens.

Otherwise we can forget about it.

I've even heard Broncos fans saying they may grab him at #2 overall.

I think we'd have to trade up. It looks like teams are willing to trade down too.

Let this thread ride. Peterson slides past 5 he'll be a Cowboy. When you look at team needs I can't see many teams I doubt 8 teams will pass up on elite DL prospects, a WR or two will sneak in there, and and I see a handful of teams reaching for QBs high. Peterson is attainable. I'd be willing to part with our 3rd this year to get a player like him, give our secondary flexibility. Turn a weakness into an immediate strength, give a dual threat at return with Dez/Peterson and the obvious impact on field position.

If we land Dez and Peterson in back to back years, it will make up for some of the Carpenters and Roy Williams's of the world. Two impact playmakers that are noticably athletically superior and physically gifted than their opponents, that can immediately put you over the top.

He played in the best conference in the land and faced each team's best WR each week. Looked a tad unpolished mechanically but so talented in the uncoachable areas that he's worth a shot.

There would almost have to be a run on QBs for it to happen. That could happen, but it probably won't. We need him to make it #6.

I really think we are too in love with OT's and OLB's to move up for PP.

Its possible, but extremely unlikely. 2 QB's, 2 WR's, 2 OLB/DE's, 2 DT's, and 1 o-lineman could all go top 8 depending on how teams view their needs.

An unlikely scenario just for fun:

1. Car-Newton
2. Den-Dareus
3. Buff-Gabbert
4. Cinci-Green
5. AZ-Miller-
6. Cle-Jones(need a weapon for mccoy to throw to)
7. SF-Quinn
8.Ten-Fairley

Thats really not THAT far fetched, Jones would be a pretty big stretch though. You could even sneak Smith in the top 8 since hes the best available OT this year. We would just need to get lucky that other teams arent valuing CB that much this year.

1. Cam Newton
2. Marcel Dareus
3. Von Miller
4. Julio Jones
5. Blaine Gabbert
6. A.J. Green
7. Robert Quinn/Aldon Smith
8. Nick Fairley
9. Patrick Peterson

well done. loving this

1 Carolina - Dareous
2 Denver - Petersen
3 Buffalo – Gabbert
4 Bengals – Green
5 Cardinals – Quinn
6 Browns – J Jones
7 49ers – Prince
8 Tenn – Fairly
9 Dallas – Trade Down - Tyron Smith
10 Skins – Newton

He won't get to 9 but...

I think it's not farfetched that Cleveland wants Julio Jones. At 6, if Jerry wants Peterson, Julio is sure to still be there at #9 so they could take our 3rd and swap spots with us. There isn't much chance that SF or Tenn goes WR. I think the key is at 5 where the Cardinals will either take Gabbert or Peterson. I think the start will see Newton, Dareus, Miller and Green in that order. If I were Cleveland, I would much raterh draft a WR at 9 then 6 looking at the $$ involved.

Everything in the draft hinges on Cincinatti/Carolina IMO.

If Carolina goes Newton at 1 overall ( which I think is dumb personally)
Cincinatti could go Gabbert at 4 with Carson saying he is retiring or leaving.
If that happens Arizona could take Mallet.

That leaves Green/Jones for Cleveland, and the other could goto Tennessee.

That gives us a realistic shot.

Thats pretty much the only possibility I see without us moving up.

I don't follow the game as closely as I used to...is he really that great?

I always felt you build a winner from the inside-out, not the other way...I see almost everyone on here loves the guy, so I assume his is the next Deion or something....just curious. I hope we don't trade up, I'd rather use our picks the best lineman around/bpa...my 2 cents.

No one's a sure thing, but he looks pretty damn good. To get him would mean a first and a second, but to get a plug and play shutdown corner for ten years is worth it.

You cant...unless Jerry puts sleeping gas thru air vents for 8 teams before dallas. And the reason for this is.....top CB taken in Top 10 over past 10 years have been pretty good...very few bust resulted from them. Peterson is the safest pick in the draft.
