I don't think so.

I'm wondering how his stinger and other neck injuries are healing.

The way he tackles, I don't think he lasts in the NFL (physically).

He should be given a chance to step up and take it. If he does, great. If he doesn't, oh well.

Decent Special Teams guy.

Decent Special Teams guy.

He had his chance to start last year and got ran over by Jason Campbell he should be cut.

Can he first answer the question about whether or not he can come back at 100% from a season ending knee injury before we ask if he can start? My guess is he'll be the next Keith Davis: he'll play out his contract mainly as a special trams full-timer, while only backing up the FS position, and then go elsewhere in free agency after his contract expires. Stephen Jones has already said that Safety is a position they'll look to the draft for.

IN my mind, Watkins is he backup to Hamlin at FS, and yes, he's capable of starting there if Hamlin gets hurt...imo.

I thought he had really started to turn the table until we had all the injuries and had to move him to SS where he was injured.

Who cares cut him and don't invest anymore time into that bum.

lol @ watkins. has this guy shown you anything in 3 years to merit any consideration for starting? he hasnt shown the ability to tackle well, cover well or stay healthy. CUT!!!

I don't think Pat is built to be a SS, I'm not sure how he ended up there to begin with.

Totally agree. He plays like a free safety. I remember thinking that the first pre-season game I saw him in. For some reason that has always stuck in my mind. Of course I thought he would come in and play much better than he has the past three years, but the guy is a free safety it seems.

I remember people were high on him in his rookie mini camps. I always thought he was too skinny.

He absolutely has to work on his tackling form, or he will injure himself out of a job.

I always thought he could that rangy centerfielder we were looking for that could allow Roy to move closer to the line of scrimmage. But I don't think he's ever going to get there. He's a good special teams player who can play some packages for you. So it's not like it was a bad second day pick or anything. I think expectations were just too high.

he's too tall

seriously, he tackles w/ his helmet so much because that's how he gets enough leverage to make the tackle
