Patriots acted quickly with Mike Vrabel partly because they believed the Cowboys were interested

There were a lot of teams interested in Vrabel. He's one of the few coaches in the NFL who you could legitimately say elevated his team. And he was fired because he lost a power struggle (to a GM that was also fired), not so much because of his results on the field. Normally HCs of his caliber don't get away, and if there was any doubt about Vrabel's cred, the Titans just cleared it for him.

Is there any proof that Vrabel was even interested in Dallas? Probably not.

I think he was smart to stay the hell away from Jerry's circus. It could have been a career killing decision to go to Dallas.

He wanted the fan, because we have a great fanbase.

Maybe they THOUGHT Dallas was interested, but what they KNEW was their division rival already interviewed him and all reports say the interview was great from both sides. Obviously that created urgency.

We're gonna sit around and diddle our thumbs the same way we did in free agency last year when all the good free agents signed and we just picked up the left overs. Same thing this year with coaches.

  way to go front office

Kraft >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jones boys. Kraft realized he made a mistake in Mayo so what did he do? Did he just sit on the mistake because he didn't want to pay a coach to sit at home or did he make a quick decision that makes the football organization better?
This is one of the worst front offices in sports. We should be used to this by now and seeing stories like this.

Jones boys are waiting on the third wave of coaches so they can't get the most bargain deal.

That's free agency every year. They love to diddle their thumbs.. it's the only thing they're good at.

I've heard that too, but I find it hard to believe that the tissue soft Jones boys wanted a gruff tough coach in the building.

Imagine? Mayo would've been here for 5 years and probably got an extension afterwards. Jerry operates on a different planet than the rest of the league. Specially compared to the real teams that actually care about winning

Yeah, Vrabel would not have put up with Jethro sticking his nose in like he does.
