Patriots activate LT Isaiah Wynn from IR

Their starting left tackle, a first round pick in 2018, Wynn played every snap in week one then got injured in week two.

He'll be back in their starting line up this week.

A big upgrade from Marshall Newhouse. Still, i like Quinn's chances.

Its the other side I'm more interested in. Marcus Cannon struggled at RT against th Eagles and regularly gave up the corner and had guys running around him all day.

It won’t matter... The Pats offense exploits our biggest weakness on D: the short passing game. We will avoid giving up huge plays— but Tom and company will be more than fine nickel and dime-ing us down the field

My hope? Jam at the line with our size advantage at corner, don’t give an inch of space in the passing game (think NO game last year), and make Tom hold it for a little longer and start taking some hits.

Tough match up for him facing Quinn his first game back. My guess is he struggles a bit from lack of game speed action.

Dudes only played 2 career games. Hes going up against a experienced pash rusher Quinn.

I don’t disagree m. Dude has 82 career snaps.

just saying it’s funny, most players come back against us.

How is he in the run game? I have a feeling that Dallas is going to get a heavy dose of the Pats run game on Sunday. Make those DTs and LBs prove their worth. That will keep Brady upright and put this defense in a less aggressive state and thinking vs attacking. IMHO...

Not worried about this. Quinn will be too high energy rushing against this guy. Not good for Wynn who will be rusty.

Not the match up Wynn should want out of the gates.

Once Quinn hits him with that speed rush & hop step....its a done deal.

Newhouse is arguably the worst LT in the entire league. Wynn doesn't have to be great to make the Patriots offense work 10x better than it was against the Eagles and Ravens, just decent. Brady needs less time than any QB in the league to operate, but he still needs SOME. Newhouse also stunk in the run game. If Wynn is a C+/B- player it takes the Patriots from "coasting into playoffs because their schedule is easy" to being a well-oiled football murder machine like they were in 2016.

Anyway, unless they're starting total trash at tackle it isn't edge rushers that make Brady uncomfortable, it's inside pressure combined with oddball coverage where you fake man an then run zone, or fake zone and then run man. If he can't step up and has to throw half a second too soon he can be limited. If the interior line holds and Brady can step up, edge rushers can fly by all day and he doesn't seem to care. Ask JJ Watt, he played Brady a million times and never made a difference in the game because a single star edge rusher can't beat Brady by himself.
