Patriot's Secondary

Henne (of all QBs) lit them up for 400+. I'm expecting a huge game from Romo.

Weird seeing a Bellichick team give up so many passing yards to a mediocre QB. I fully expect Romo to light them up in a statement game.

After seeing our passing game against the Jets I'm expecting big things from them no matter who we play. If Dez/Miles/Witten can do the things they did against the Jets then who knows what happens against mediocre teams.

Belichick's team is now based solely on trying to outscore the opponent.

The question is: can Romo keep up with Brady? Brady lit up the Dolphins for over 500 yds.

And who is going to cover NEs TEs? And Welker and Branch? I'm not looking forward to the Patriots vs. the Cowboys secondary.

My thoughts exactly. They won't be able to just outscore people and expect to make it to the SB this year. I can't wait to see them and the Jets lock horns. I'm predicting a lot of pain for Mr. Brady in those games. :)

I don't think Brady will have the time to put up 500 against us. He is not mobile to begin with and our D is better than Miami's is. He will need time to find all of those weapons. With Rob dialing up timely exotic blitzes at will I predict more pain for Brady from us as well. Especially since Rob is moving Ware around. Even Spencer looked good against the Jets (who have a better OL IMO).

I expect our secondary to improve. We should have T New back for that game so we should be good to go. Remember, Jets' receivers came alive when we went down the depth chart due to injuries.

Brady's got maybe 3 to 4 good years left. They're screwed after that. Especially because their big receiving threats are tight ends.

First point is wholly irrelevant. A win is a win.

You also must not have watched our defense on Sunday.

I agree, as a Pats fan, we do not have a snowballs chance in hell of winning the SB with our secondary. Unless a couple of rookies, or near rookies show up big time. That is unlikely.

Should be a fun game to watch though -- points will be scored.

Looking forward to it.

It's been like that for some time.

Think what happened to the Colts this weekend is what will happen to the Pats.

Everybody always talks up the Pats drafting ability. In the last couple of years, they've really struggled to find many red or blue chip defensive players. McCourty looks pretty good, Mayo is okay but overrated, Merriweather was the same as Mayo - overrated (hence why he was cut). There are a couple of solid starters, but a lot of JAGs.

I know that they're often picking in the back half of the draft, but so were the Packers, Ravens, Steelers, Jets etc and they've done a much, much better job than the Pats who everyone considers the "gold-standard" of drafting.

There's a reason why they've had to bring in so many defensive Free Agents this year. Same with the Eagles, and even the Saints in the last couple of years (mainly their DL). All 3 of those teams are great at picking offensive players, but suck at picking defense.

No doubt. If you compare our drafts from the Parcell's era forward, Dallas doensn't look nearly as bad as one might think.

Belichick may be a video genius but who do you think Tom Brady would rather have on the roster right now, Chad Johnson or Dez Bryant?
